k&a&c'smom,

That was me. I finally heard back from them but their e-mails just don't seem to answer the questions I ask in other e-mails.

LOL!! Okay, then, I'm absolutely no help at all!! I couldn't remember who posted that, tried to look back and still couldn't find it! Hopefully, somebody will have an answer. Maybe you guys should call, I always email 'cause it's easiest for me, but I did call with my cc number, didn't want send it via email.

Tedmom - so happy your safari is finally taking off!! You'll love AKL CL, it's fantastic!!:teeth: Have a great trip!!

I've been thinking. . with what we paid for our last trip in April, if we would've waited until August (value season) , I probably could've gotten Concierge for close to the same price! Or maybe I'm dreaming?????

I'm back from the Doctor.

Had an ultrasound. It went very well. "Beautiful" was the quote from the Dr. I have to go back May 10 to make sure one thing is fine but she said not to worry. There is a small chance I may have to have outpatient surgery when we return from Florida.

I had myself in a "tizzy" all the way there. I love my brothers but I'm not ready to join them in heaven just yet. I always have very low blood pressure. It is usually 86/64. Today it was 140/70  It has never been that high! I think I was a bit nervous.:hyper:

So, guess what we are doing. GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! Okay, we already had that planned but I just wanted to say that.

I'm gonna "live it up" this trip and thank God I have a healthy family.

Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers.

DD has a slight fever and a cough so I'll pass some along to her.

:wave2:  :sunny:  :bounce: :Pinkbounc
Thank you...for letting us all know SO quickly, and making my day! My DH is interested in participating in the "events" you have listed above your countdown. Any links or page/site for info on the NEXT Triathalon? Thanks!

:goodvibes to your sweet DD...hope she feels better.

Tedmom~Have a MAGICAL Trip!! :sunny:

luckywife Poly IPO # is 407-824-2466 You'll likely get voicemail, but they're pretty good about calling back.
floridafam- so happy for you! Now just imagine yourself in the Central Florida sunshine, watching a parade and eating a Mickey ice cream bar...

OK, here goes on the monorail story: part of the reason we took our niece in Jan. was because her parents were having marital difficulties and it was very rough on her. She's a super-sensitive little girl and a lot had happened recently in her brief life - Mommy had twins, Daddy moved out, etc. We wanted to give her a break from the tension in her home. She was having a great time with us, but she had a really hard time with strangers, whether CMs or even other little girls, talking to her. She actually burst into tears a couple of times when CMs spoke to her. Now, she's a very cute little blonde girl who was wearing a princess hat & pink sunglasses, so she attracted plenty of attention from the CMs, so we tried really hard to get her to relax. We think the interaction w/characters & CMs & other guests is one of the best parts of the Disney experience, but nothing we told her could convince her that these chatty friendly people weren't "stranger-danger." Until Stan...
On our next to last day at WDW we rode in the front car of the monorail (or Mom-o-Rail, as my niece calls it) on the way to MK. Our driver was a bundle of energy w/ a modicum of craziness thrown in. We thought surely we were going to have a tearful niece on our hands, but something clicked between Bailey & Stan, and he had her laughing the rest of the way. She even had to have her picture taken with him when we got to MK. Well, that's all she wanted to do all day - ride the "mom-o-rail," hence our 5 consecutive trips around the resort loop! On the last ride of the morning we again rode the front car with - lo & behold - Stan! This time DH & I started noticing what a cheerful, lovin' life kind of guy he was, just what you'd imagine Walt had in mind for his CMs. He shared tons of info about Disney history, different attractions, and the monorail itself, it was obvious he loved WDW like we do. He really made our trip as much as he made Bailey's.
Flash forward to March. DH & I are on a grown-ups only trip for an extended weekend. This is first non-concierge trip in several years. Our flight down was filled with ill-supervised elementary school children on a school band trip, so we start out a little stressed. It takes forever to check in, as we have a brand new CM, trying really hard, but still screwing up. Our room, when we get there, reeks of cigarettes, even though it's in a non-smoking longhouse, plus we're right next to Hawaii which just makes us miss concierge more. We head over to MK right away (our first day tradition) and the monorail is delayed between the Poly & GF, & again between GF & MK for several minutes. As we pull into the MK station we can see that it's very crowded and we're both beginning to wonder why we planned this last-minute trip. The driver makes an announcement apologizing for the delays, and my DH says, "Hey - that's Stan. I recognize his voice" (what can I say - he's an audio engineer) As we exit the station, sure enough, there's Stan, grinning, ushering his laughing guests from the front car. He sees us as we walk past & says, "Hey, y'all still here? Where's your little princess?" It hits us that if Stan can smile through the crowds after 17 years on the job and remember guests from a month & a half earlier, we can certainly deal with a few glitches here & there. After all, we're in the Happiest Place on Earth!

steveanddonna - That is the perfect example of why we continue to go to WDW time after time. Those wonderful, magic moments just don't happen anywhere else. That's why, even when there is trouble in management, Eisner needs to leave, we still find it the best, most magical place on earth!!:sunny:

Kleenex, anyone?! I'll pass the box!

That's not your imagination, that's absolutely right!!::yes::

floridafam, I am sorry I didn't see your request for prayers earlier. I am so glad to hear that the ultrasound looked great. I will say a prayer that surgery will not be necessary.

Tedmom, have a FANTASTIC trip!!! AKL CL sounds spectacular, so I hope you enjoy it!

steveanddonna, your Stan story is priceless! Thank you for sharing it! I also meant to tell you how neat your username is to me. My godparents are named Steve and Donna, and when we talk about them we always jumble it all together as if they are one entity, SteveandDonna are coming to visit, etc. Your username reminds me of that and made me smile. :)

Yes, I believe I have the concierge bug, too!
Our first (and only experience, thus far) was at The Grand Floridian--Concierge room in Sugar Loaf!

We LOOOOOOVED it!

gf99,

Thanks:)

This is the tri DH is doing in May. This is the first year it is being held at WDW. We just couldn't pass up a triathlon on Disney property. It will be so convenient to watch him and then rest and snack back at the room.

This is the tri he is doing in November. This is going to be a "doozy."

This is also a good one. He did this one last year. He got overheated but managed to finish. He spent a couple of hours in the medical tent but he was fine.

This is a big race in Clermont, which is pretty close to WDW. He was going to do this one last Fall but there was a power outage at VWL and we had a huge noise in our villa for a while and he missed the race.

I really enjoy watching him compete. The atmosphere at most triathlons is very family friendly and the athletes are like friends. There never seems to be a sense of "I'm better than you." Everyone is aware of how hard it is and they are very supportive. I thought it would be much different but I'm glad it's not.

Maybe DH will see you on the race course soon.:sunny:

Have a great trip, Tedmom!

Floridafam>> SO glad you are ok and everything went fine! Guess that snow we had this morning was really pixie dust raining down on you! :) I was down your way on Sunday. Those 10/11 year old travel A hockey players you guys are growing over there are great!

Welcome Callmekel and Blowinbubbles!

OK, someone asked about Dolphin CL and I can't find it now! DF LIVES on Dolphin CL, I've stayed Swan CL and will be spending part of my next trip Dolphin CL. What would you like to know? In a nutshell, it is concierge light, w/o the high price! Fantastic beds and location, great pool, and some supergreat CM's running the lounges!

Yes, room, IT SNOWED this morning! They said a few flakes... it SNOWED! Granted, it left quickly, but its the end of April! Oh yeah, we live in Michigan!

Happy playoff hockey night!
Go Wings!
Debbie

hockeymom,

I guess that snow was pixie dust. I couldn't believe it. It's almost May. Time to move to Florida.:teeth:

steveanddonna- thanks for posting the phone # for the Poly.
BTW, I enjoyed the story about your niece. It was truly heartwarming. She sounds like a real doll!

FloridafamThanks for all the TRI~events info! Wow...your DH is a real go-getter, mine too. ::yes:: Runs 5k every day, plays BB, hikes, rock climbs, surfs, boxes, etc. Always on the move! :hyper:

#1HM~Yes....I admit, I almost "LIVE" on CL @ the WDW Dolphin :o It's just so darned comfy in those heavenly beds & roomy in the exec. suites! The view is amazing, and the room service, MMmmmm. :teeth: I'll help with any questions about this place! :D

SNOW? Are you KIDDING!? It's H~O~T out here! :sunny: We are headed to Disneyland this weekend. Should be FUN in the SUN! Hope it warms up for you soon.

steveanddonna~Sniff...sniff...That little Bailey is one VERY lucky little girl (to have such a caring Auntie & Uncle!). These stories represent the VERY ESSENCE of the MAGIC of WDW. I too...have experienced many of these little happenings, which made all the difference in the world. DD marvels at the kindness and nurturing many of the CM's exude. Walt's DREAM & VISION...is ALIVE & WELL. We are all the "life~blood" which sustains his beating heart...in the center of the KINGDOM!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

I forgot to add earlier that I LOVE all of the heartfelt stories! I have permanantly moved a kleenux box to the computer room! Keep them coming!
