BT,

Aren't all of the suites at the Poly in one building? Does this building have a seperate concierge lounge or would you have to go back and forth between Hawaii? Could this be an issue for someone in a wheelchair?

I would split between CR and WL, IMO.

Let us know what you end up doing.:sunny:

You stated your mom is in a wheelchair, and if she likes to swim, the Poly has zero entry. And, the monorail is such a great help when you have mobility problems.
Yes, definitely! Bambi, if you think you can tear yourself away from WL, go ahead and "sleep around!" I certainly understand the appeal of not moving around (see signature - we don't even change resorts year to year!) but the monorail made things SO much easier when we took my aunts in 2000, and they do have the special PVC wheelchair at the Poly pool. Plus, you'd get an island vacation & a mountain vacation all in one shot. I'd have to say that those of us who have discovered the Disney magic are the luckiest people around!

Well just how cool is this???? Bambi asking for our opinions!!!:) 3

My vote is to split between the Poly and WL. I love the Lodge and you do too. And you would still be close to the MK for that wonderful niece! The boat to the MK is so wonderful and relaxing. I know, preaching to the choir....

And the Poly.... hey, if it's your Mom's favorite and your giving Dad the Grand 1 for Father's Day.... how could you NOT stay at the Poly for a couple of days for Mom???? :p You know you love it.....:hyper:

And when is the next trip after June????? Hmmmmmmmm????:hyper: :sunny:

You really brighten my day BT. And BTW, great work on goodferry's fairy!!!

BT--How about the Poly and BC, that way you can focus on the MK while at the Poly and Epcot while at BC, your mom could enjoy the zero entry pools at both and your niece would probably love SAB, not to mention, didn't someone say something about stone crab at the BC CL? We aren't helping much, are we, just making you think more. I always end up going with what I originally booked, it turns out my first instincts are usually right.

BT - I'd have to agree with the others, if your Mom is up for the split go ahead and give her a taste of the Poly while keeping WL and have the best of both worlds :teeth:. Boy, I thought it would be easier to pick resorts for returning guests, but I guess I was completely wrong  ;)!

VAgal76 - You're right, it is just as hard to choose when returning, you already know how fantastic the others are, so you know what you're missing!!;)

Just booked my October trip back to the BWI CL! I will be going with my husband, son, daughter-in-law grandaughter and my son'd in-laws. We all get along very good and are looking forward to celebrating Madyson's second birthday at WDW. My son and his wife honeymooned at the BWI CL and will not stay anywhere else now either. His in-laws have never been and are in for a real treat! I cannot wait now.

October is supposed to be a nice time to go, I am sure you will have a great trip! We are celebrating my dd's first b-day at the Poly Cl this June

You're right, it is just as hard to choose when returning, you already know how fantastic the others are, so you know what you're missing!!
So you mean when I finally convince DH to try another resort, I'll be tortured every trip thereafter trying to figure out which one to do again?! Oh well - if that's our biggest problem then we are indeed lucky!

I have a feeling I am going to be in the same boat steveanddonna, I think from reading this thread dh is going to love the Poly so much that I am going to have a hard time convincing him to ever try BC or BWI, he isn't a big Epcot fan, so that will add to it. He is looking forward to the convenient transportation.

KerryCM - DD and I are planning to stay at BWI on our next trip, we can't wait to go back!!:teeth:

steveanddonna - Yes, but it's great to have such a dilemma, as you say, we are very lucky!!::yes::

I just booked concierge this morning for BWI, I have been trying for months but persistance does pay and YES, once you go concierge hard to go back :D

Gail T
you are going to love the BWI. The cast is the best! Jackie is one of the reasons we return twice a year. Terri, Robin and Scott are also fantastic. I too live south of Boston!!!

that's great news, KerryCM!!!!
And I understand your being so excited about taking family!

Very special to share CL with our loved ones...isn't it?::yes::

I still have that BWI garden suite booked for September with the GF RPC, so the BWI CL is still on my "MUST DO" list!

OK....I've got it narrowed down to CR and Poly before the WL.
And, I'm leaning towards the CR, because neither of my parents have NOT stayed there!
Plus, with the monorail going thru the tower, it'll be easy to get mom to MK and Epcot.
And at WL, we'll use the bus to go to the Studios, which we would have to do at the Poly also, and we'll take the boat for the MK.
Mostly, the WL will be our relaxing end of our vacation.

At least, that's what I keep telling myself.

I've gotta big show tomorrow, so I'll see you LIZARDS later!!!

steveanddonna-thanks for saying this. I was begining to think it was a curse...but you are so right! If my DH knew I was thinking of a trip this year he'd have a coronary. I start getting these conflicting thoughts-"how can I spend that kind of money again to go?" "won't I be spoiling the kids to go every year?" "won't I set them up for disappointment for when we can't go every year?" "aren't there lots of other places I want the kids to see?" but then I just think of all the magical moments we will have and the lasting family memories and bonds we will be creating and they won't be young forever and I just can't see how I can stay away.

I was thinking about my possible trip this November and trying to do a list of pros and cons AKL CL vs Poly CL and it is so hard to choose but since the kids will be just 5, 3, and 1 I think if we do go I'll stick to the Poly.

Any idea when Nov AP rates may be released?

KerryCM and GailT-another South of Boston gal here.

Just got back late last night- 1:00 am(pardon me if I'm not quite awake yet).

YC-Concierge is absolutely awesome-we were upgraded to Lagoon View-totally amazing. We could see Boardwalk and the fireworks at Epcot from our balcony.

SAB was fine-we were there over Easter and Spring Breaks. The Resorts were full to capacity but you wouldn't really notice it by the pools. You had to hunt a bit for lounge chairs but it was never a real problem and there is lots of room in the actual pool itself.

If you have any questions just ask (I posted earlier from our room about the lounge offerings).

I'll do a trip report as soon as I can get myself together.

:o I'm back!!! Concierge level at AKL was wonderful! We've stayed at smaller inns and such, but never at a large hotel concierge level. Y'all were right! DH even says he is spoiled! Have lots to tell-even ran into #1hockeymom-but it will have to wait. Reality has set in and laundry has to be done. I WANT MY LOUNGE AND MY ALREADY-BREWED COFFEE BACK!

Welcome home momrules!! I am glad you enjoyed your stay, and I have a feeling that your post will ease some fears about SAB and the number of people there.
Welcome back mamatink, too! We went away for the weekend and left a notice for the maid to clean the room early one day, and I thought to myself, wouldn't that be a nice option to have at home? Same with the coffee, I guess!
I hope coming down off your disney high isn't too hard:sunny:

Good morning everyone! Welcome back to those that have just returned. I know it must be hard re-adjusting to the real world. :) ::yes::

We are under 30 days to our trip and I am starting to get excited!

Fred
