Hi Fred!

so far, I've only spoken with Ida and Melissa, but IDA is the one who's been getting all my requests!

Some people just don't understand the whole concierge experience!
It's goes way beyond the food....the guest services is what it comes down to...for me!

Also, I got all my packages delivered this am from AKL concierge!
We got alot of those stuffed dinos at the AK, and we also received a "welcome back" gift and a safari gift from the CL staff!
Both were nice replicas of the artwork that is displayed in the lobbies!
The night before check-out, I gave all this stuff to Kenny and he took care of shipping all of it to us!
No problemo!
:teeth:

Oh, another lesson learned....when they offer you a SUITE upgrade, even if you've got other plans....TAKE IT AND RUN!

Nothing to say, really, just can't have this on PAGE 3!!!!!! Really, it's a shameless play for looking at my counter!!:earseek:

Wow that's a great idea. We wouldn't have to do it for all of our stuff but it would be nice for the larger items. Last September we won Julia a large Turtle at AK. Darn thing nearly needed it's own seat! :)

Have avoided this thread for some time knowing our next big trip in May is to the Dolphin and not Concierge. But I gave in and here I am. The fever is rising. I need to go back to the lounge! Have just gotten a bonus at work that would more than cover a week during value season at Concierge level. Maybe November!

Bambi, love reading your posts. We've done YC and AKL Concierge and the one that really draws me back is AKL! The sunrise safari was wonderful but my almost new film camera broke and I got almost no pictures. We were on 6th floor too and just loved the lounge being right there! OOOHHH just typing this makes me want to call Disney and get a ressie in right now!
BTW, I love the part of TX you're from! I'm Austin born.

Everyone keep posting about your Conc. experiences! I'll keep reading and probably have a ressie in soon. Anyone going to AKL in November?

Sharon

My Database doesn't show anyone going to AKL in November yet. You could be the first! :)

It does show one person going there in October though.

Click the Who's Going link in my signature to add your dates and search for others. It's fun and a great way to know who will be going when you are.

running in to feed Dory *or another shameless look at my counter*

We're so close to crossing each other, K&a&c!

What great information about shipping! We had those darn dinosaurs ALL over our room last trip! One actually talked, which drove DS crazy, or he thought I was crazy....LOL*I am a teacher, I am a mom; yes it talked to my son!* It was a good memory! We barely packed our stuff back up. I had carry on cloth bags packed in my luggage. If it wasn't for them we would have left dinos and frogs behind! I never even thought of asking for shipping. I will put it on the top of my list if we need it this time! There is are also a few pictures I really love at the market place. hmmmmm

Hightown>> You're going to to a great hotel! I love the Swan and Dolphin! If you upgrade to club level there, say hello to Thabo for me!

Happy Saturday!
Debbie

Debbie - Yes, it's too bad we leave right before you get there!:( I've even tried to stay a couple more days, but the airline and the resort are both so packed, it would cost the price of another trip!! Maybe we'll be there at the same time down the road!!!:teeth:

I'm doing the single-digit dance, everybody!!! Join in!!:jumping1:

I'm so excited for you! :jumping4:
It seems like our counter is moving soooooo slowly.
Can't wait to hear about your trip. Even moreso, can't wait 'til I'm counting down in single digits!

steveanddonna - I hear 'ya, sister!! I remember last month, when everybody seemed to be heading to see Mickey, I kept looking at my counter and saying "Go, go!!" but it wasn't cooperating!! Don't worry, we'll leave some magic for the rest of you guys!* ~ * ~ * ~ *

I just watched the tape fo the Travel Channel's segment on the AKL. WOW. I've haven't taken the time to actually visit this resort.

We ate at Boma's, but blasted through the lobby like rockerts, we were tired, and hungry. The meal was incredible.

:bounce:

I now MUST have a stay at the AKL. It is on my to do list. Maybe next May.

I don't think I can split my stay in December..... I'm doing Poly GVC and am starting in value season.... if I move, my room cost will go up won't it???

And to all doing the single digit dance... I'm JEALOUS!!!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Is it December yet???

How can you stand it? My trip is in May & I've already got ants in my pants! I think sometimes I check the boards just to see my counter!
glad to hear you enjoyed Boma. We're eating there in May on our last night. We tried Jiko last November and our new favorite is the Teppanyaki dining room in Epcot. Our plan is to eat our way around the entire property!

Last night I had a dream we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite at AKL. OK, I know better, and we are going with the Easter crowd so it will be packed. I have decided that one shouldn't look at pictures of suites right after they hear about an offer made to a fellow concierge roomie! Also adding to the dream was probably the fact that driving home from the mall last night I was singing away to the circle of life as it was played on the radio. It was a great dream! LOL I will be happy in my non suite room; just make my counter fly through the next two weeks!

Happy Sunday!

PS New serengetis have been bought! I am ready for the sunshine state!:sunny:

Welcome to our humble little thread, hightown !!!!!
We DO love it here in the beautiful Texas Hill Country!

Gosh! I have it so bad for the AKL CL, that I'm trying to figure out how to get back there again this year!
That place is just AWESOME!

::yes::

All you single digiteers.....YEA!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Debbie...you never know about a SUITE upgrade!
Sending lots of PD~*~*~*~*~* your way!:teeth:

steveanddonna...LOL! I think we're trying to do the same thing!
Our plan is to eat our way around the entire property!

Anybody know anything about the Marathon in January?
Where it starts and ends and what resort is the best place to book?
DH registered for the marathon today!:earsboy:
Another good reason to start planning another concierge stay!
(And no kids on this trip, too!)

Bambi - I don't know anything about the marathon, but Deb Willls' site has some info - I remember the newsletter talked about it in Jan.

Debbie - I'll keep my fingers crossed after we leave, it seems that the resorts are less packed the week after Easter this year and maybe that suite will be available!! I can relate to your dream, I think I mentioned my dream last week that we were in the AKL lobby - it was so real, I could smell it!!:teeth:

steveanddonna - DD and I are also trying to "eat our way around the property!" One of the reasons we were trying to stay a few extra days was our desire to fit in a few more restaurants!!

k&a&c'smom -
LOL!
DH wanted to do the same thing - "if we stay one more night we could fit in Artist Point, too" Of course, any excuse to stay longer is fine with him.

I couldn't agree more!::yes::

Well, it happened! I'll be doing CL at BW this summer! I couldn't resist after reading this thread. I'm so glad I found this site before I made our reservations - I would've missed so much. It'll be our first trip to Disney World.. I'm fearful (some say there is no going back), yet excited about being spoiled a little :wave2: .
