How many of us Deluxe dis'ers recently stayed MOD and loved it?

From individual posts, it's sounding like many of us who had only stayed Deluxe and tried Moderates for the first time have had a pleasant surprise!

We stayed at our first MOD (POR, Mansions) last month and I couldn't believe how lovely the grounds were, how much larger the room was than anticipated (I'd been expecting a cramped, small room), the attention to detail in the rooms and the high standard of cleanliness.

At least I know in the future, if we can't find a discount on a Deluxe room, it's not much of a sacrifice to stay at a MOD!

My entire family (dh and 3 children) loved CSR. We had just spent 8 days at AKL when dh decided he wanted to stay through the Memorial Weekend. Well, NOTHING was available. We called and called before lucking into a cancellation at CSR. At first, I thought it would be really hard going from a deluxe to a moderate. Boy was I wrong! Dh and I loved being able to park so close to our room, the view from our room was lovely, the room did not seem small or cramped, dh and I survived the full beds with no problem (very comfy beds, I might add), kids loved the quiet and themed pool (less crowded than AKL), and we all liked the good selection of foods at the Pepper Tree Market. The theming at CSR was every bit as good as at a deluxe resort. I'm looking forward to visiting POR with dh (No kids along!!!!) at the end of July. Staying at moderates may become a new trend with us.

Count us in on the list. We have had about 8 different visits at Deluxe resorts and just returned from a week at POFQ. We were both pleasantly surprised at the lovely grounds, the amenities, the room size, the decor which was really lovely, and how much fun it was to use that boat to go for dinner. I would not hesitate to try another moderate at all.

We will let you know. We have always done deluxes but with the dining plan, I felt more bang for out buck with a moderate. We will be staying CSR and from what I have seen and heard, I think we will be happy!!

We've stayed at all levels. Our first stay at CSR was coming off a trip to AKL-we were so impressed with CSR. I even said it to the CM at check-in. I had been there all of five minutes. I said to her something like, "This place is gorgeous!!!! We just recently stayed at AKL an this is every bit as nice." I even remember lounign at the pool area thinking, "This resort really has everything. I could stay here all the time and be perfectly happy."

We usually stay at deluxes, but we have stayed in 2 rooms at CSR (value season, AP discount!), since there are 5 of us. Also stayed one room there when just a couple of us went. We love the pretty grounds and big lake, the awesome pool, and sandy beach area by the Cabanas. We also always rent a car, so transportation isn't really a factor, and it is nice to be able to park close to your room (unlike the hike at deluxes!).
The other moderates don't appeal to me, but everyone has their own tastes and preferences.

We stayed at moderates before going deluxe and I must say that we would never have a problem going back. POFQ is the best... by far!!!

Always stay Deluxe. Stayed at POR for the first time (to be with friends who couldn't afford Deluxe), while not crazy about the bed size and outdoor hallways, we would probably stay at a Mod again if no Deluxes were available. Sheesh...talk about a lukewarm recommendation!

We've stayed at all levels too. We usually do DVC, but I must say, I LOVE PO/RS Mansions!! Like you said, the grounds are absolutley beautiful and the boat ride to DD is awesome!! The whole place just feels really upscale to me. It also has a great food court, which I love! I will definitley be going back someday!!

We do this all the time. One big trip (10 days) a year at a deluxe, usually YC/BC or Poly. Then, if we can afford a second trip we will stay at a moderate. One of the things I miss at the moderates is the monorail or boat transportation to the parks. Other than that, we are happy to be in WDW!

We stayed at the Poly, WL, AKL and the CR..then we tried the CSR and fell in love...so we tried POFQ and couldn't have been happier. To our suprise we just seem to like the mods better.
