2005 Dodge Caravan-74,0000+ - paid off, had a big repair this year- a little over a thousand bucks. Not big enough for me to remember what it was, that is what invoices are for!

No joke! Our newly paid off Hyundai Santa Fe was totaled the week after we paid it off last year. At the used car dealer, our guy convinced me to drive it. The old lady who was turning it in talked to me about it. So far so good Let's all say a prayer on this and think happy thoughts!

Toyota has been great for us. & years ago we traded in a celica that had 208,000 miles on it and it was a great car with no troubles at all. Because of the high miles DH always had them do an oil change using oil that is recommended for cars with higher miles.
When we traded that car we got a brand new toyota carolla which is now 7 years old and has a little over 100,000 miles and so far it has been a good car no repairs other than a clip that hold the drivers window up but we found out that it had a recall for that issue. We change the oil every 4,000 miles. and keep up with the recommended mainetance stuff such as flushing the coolant, air filters, and such. Oh and it gets 39 miles to the gallon even though it is 7 years old!!

I posted earlier in this thread and back to update.

Had a brand new 05 town and country that we traded in on a brand new 08 town and country.
60K plus miles later we traded that in beginning of july Dealer gave us more for the van at trade in than the difference we paid when purchasing it.

We now have a 2011 volkswagen jetta sportswagen TDI over 5k miles driven in 3 months and the lowest mpg we haven gotten on a tank of gas was 36.5 and that was when we first got it. Current tank is showing 42.3 mpg. (and we also figure it manually when I fill the tank)

May not be as much space, but I so the mpg's!!!!

I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier with 112,000 miles - I replaced a 1997 Chevy Cavalier that had 180,000 miles when I purchased this one. We have had really good luck with the small Chevys. I just traded my 2004 Tahoe with 90,000 miles for a new 2011 Ford Expedition. The Tahoe was GREAT but I didn't want to have 2 vehicles with such high mileage...... Husband has a new VW Jetta and the VW is a first for us - hope we have good luck with it..........

2007 Toyota Prius with 105,898 on it. Paid off and DH hopes to keep it for a long time yet. He loves driving it.

I have a 2004 Chevy Equinox with almost 80,000 on it. It runs fine, just had to replace a ball bearing recently and they are known for the drivers side window motor going out. have had to replace that twice....$$$ both times.
We plan to gift it to my older brother this Christmas so they have a more reliable second car.

Our college age son has a 2009 Ford Focus with 40,000 on it and we hope to have it for a long time. He takes good care of it, but only drives it on weekends when he comes home. Hopefully it lasts long enough for our 12yo DD to drive it also!

2002 Saturn SL2 - bought new in Sept 2002 with 8 miles on it - 101,xxx miles on it currently.

2001 Saturn LW1 - bought super used in August 2009 with just over 110,xxx miles - currently has 134,xxx miles.

Both paid off, happy with both cars. Of course, we'd always like something newer, shinier, prettier with more bells and whistles, but we've been very happy with our purchases.

DH's 2001 Honda Civic rolled 200,000 over the weekend (that's right, not a typo ). He keeps up the maintenance, although right now it needs tires and brakes, and they may have to wait a little while. He's planning to buy a new car next spring or summer, but keep this as a 3rd car for our two teens.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe, 65,000. It'll be paid off in January!

2001 Toyota Rav4 with 60,000 miles. I bought it 3 years ago with 37,000 miles. Paid cash when I bought it and I've put about $1500 in it, with new tires, brakes, belt and routine mantenance. Oh, and something called a belt tensioner.... I hope to put at least another 100,000 miles on it

My car is a 2000 Nissan Sentra with 140k miles. It's had a few costly problems, most recently was having to replace the catalytic converter. I'm hoping nothing major needs replaced for another 5 years or so...I need it to hold out at least until then.

Hubby drives a 2005 Subaru Legacy. It's been paid off for a few years now and hasn't had any issues. We will own this car until we drive it into the ground.

DH - 2005 Crysler 300 (new) 60,000+ no problems - want to keep a long time. Mine - 2005 Suzuki XL-7 (new) 60,000+ Never been in for maintenance - DH does routine stuff, both are garage kept and like new @7years (my baby and towed w/MH) - hope to keep it "forever" also
