My DH has plantar faciatis and he wears them a lot, and did wear them to WDW and will be wearing them there when we go in September. He was amazed at the difference between them and his crosstrainers. I wear them all the time, at home, and when we go places where I have to walk a lot.
We didn't see a lot of people overall wearing them, not nearly as many as I had expected after reading these boards, but we did see a few other men and lots of mothers and kids.
I get blisters very bad...on our Oct 2005 trip by the time we did the airport at home, airport in Orlando, stood in line to check in at the resort, and walked from the bus to Spaceship Earth at Epcot, I already had blisters. BAD ONES. I hobbled the entire trip even with moleskin and whatever else we could do to try and alleviate it, and due to bad knees I use an
ECV about 50% of the time I am at the parks, so it wasn't like I walked the entire 8 days although I do usually park it outside attractions and stand in line when possible, depends on how the knees are doing. Enter
crocs into my life and a whole new level of enjoying the parks!
In Dec 2006 I wore crocs. I walked 3 half days and 2 full days of the trip (out of 8 park days) and never got one blister or even hotspot. I think it has to due with my feet being very wide and any sneakers or other shoes squish my toes, and crocs don't. I'll never go to the parks without them again!
If you hate the way they look, don't look down. That's what I do.
