I voted 9 or more. This applied more specifically to the trips prior to return time enforcement as we were hoarders/collectors and used to do the rope drop run around to collect and ride standby until the park got busy. I would say on average we used between 9-10 each per day. Once the return time was enforced it dropped, depending on park, to an average of I'd say 6/7 per day.

We did however ALWAYS use all the FP's we pulled and on the rare occasion when we didn't, we always found someone else at the SB line to give them to. We never dumped FP's that were good for use.

We definitely loved legacy FP, in all it's former glory.

Nope - no backpeddaling at all that was my intention from the beginning. I've seen lots of people say they would "go shopping" and grab more FP- than they would use. I did the same thing and happily admitted it. I would grab 3 FP- and use 2, or grab 5 and use 3.

I'm not accusing anyone of lying nor have I ever in any thread on FP+ or any other topic.

Ok. Well, I'll just have to take your word for it then I guess.

I think you might have been better off explaining your real intention of learning use versus pull numbers in the OP though. The word "really" coupled with the sarcastic responses from others, like the poster claiming to have used 180,000 FP-, left the original intent of the poll a bit unclear.

And I still maintain that, while of course people (including myself) sometimes grabbed FP- they did not end up using, in the *context* of the *relevant* FP+ benefit/detriment threads, people were/are obviously talking about the FP- they actually used to "use" versus the number they "happened to pull but threw away." It's honestly illogical to think otherwise, IMO.

I'd probably say right around 3. With three little ones I found it rather difficult to run around and get the paper FP. We also don't ride many of the big thrill rides though. We mostly used them for Peter Pan, BTMRR, Kilimanjaro Safari, Soarin, Test Track and Kali River Rapids. Oh and TSM if we got there early enough to get them. We didn't even always use them as we occasionally pulled them and then the kids ended up needing a break or we made other plans for that timeframe. So we find the FP+ to be an advantage in some ways as we can reschedule and don't have to rush anywhere to get them.

On our last trip when FP+ was in the early phases of testing and we weren't using it and the majority of guests were still using FP- I tracked it to see how many we used. I voted for 4 since our usage varied across the parks, but here's how it broke down.

MK - By far the highest but there was more to do there. PP, Space, BTMR, and the princess M&G plus the disconnected FP of Dumbo/Barnstormer/Mickey's Philharmagic/Mickey M&G. We didn't do HM or Splash so we didn't look at pulling them. Space was interesting as we pulled FP then the ride went down while we were in line so we were given anytime/anyride FP to compensate for being kicked off. We used that one later in the week to ride Space and didn't pull another one for it that day.

DHS - TSMM, RnRC and ToT. Everything else in the park was a walk-on or short standby. We missed F! because it filled up and the kids were too tired to wait for the second show.

EP - Soarin x2. TT standby in the morning was 30 minutes, Maelstrom standby in the evening was 10 minutes, Mission Space standby was 5 minutes. No need for FP except for Soarin.

AK - EE. We only had a half day at AK and our youngest was too small to ride EE so we did kid swap and DD1 rode it twice with us. We saw FOTLK and Nemo and called it a day.

Our touring style is to try to hit everything once during the course of a trip. The exception being the coasters that DD2 is too small for. We gave her FP to her sister and let her ride twice. The low standby times in August helped us see most everything we wanted to without need for many FPs. I think that 3 could easily work at every place except MK, although the RD strategy would need to be employed at DHS and EP due to the tiering, as you can catch the big attractions early with low standby. MK, due to it's size, requires more. FP+ in it's current form with 3 FP+ and a "bonus" really forces you into a two day or more strategy if you want to hit everything.

I'm just sad that I can't do this anymore (this was during an afternoon break before returning to MK to use these).

Hey, we were there the same week! Man was it crazy crowded that week or what? LOL

I personally think the number of FP for FP+ should be 5. Assuming a 10 hour park day (which is probably +/- the amount of time most families tour if you subtract meals and a a parade viewing) that is one FP every 2 hours, just like the old system basically. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I think that most people would be pretty happy with 5 - but the tiering and inability to double up on a favorite ride would still be frustrating to many. I like the idea of allowing a person to pre-book 3, then add up to an additional 2 once in the parks.

On an average day, we would probably pull six or seven, but only use three to five. Now that return times are more strict, we lose a lot of flexibility, so I think the question is really irrelevant. It's not that three isn't enough; it's that it's difficult to schedule.

At MK we'd easily use 6-7/day. At Epcot, probably 3 or so (2 for Soarin, 1 for TT). At DHS I'd say probably 4-5 (1 TSMM, Star Tours, RnRC, ToT), at AK probably 3-4 (2-3 for EE, 1 or 2 for KS).

Just checked my trip report from my June 2012 trip. I was careful to take good notes on this trip bc I figured it would be our last with legacy FP and I wanted to see if it would truly limit us. It will. Here is how our days went. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 boys, ages 5 and 7. We stayed at pop century and took breaks every afternoon. We never ran around. We did make rope drop every morning, but we never stayed in a park past 9 PM so the kids wouldn't get too exhausted.

Day 1: MK morning (5 fast passes, left around 1:30)
DHS for dinner and a few attractions. We used 1 FP for Star Tours.

Total: 6 fast passes in 2 parks

Day 2: DHS morning (3 fast passes - TSM, RnR, and Star Tours...left around 2:00)
Epcot for dinner and a few attractions. We pulled 1 FP for Maelstrom on our way to Via Napoli for dinner.

Total: 4 FP in 2 parks.

Day 3: Epcot morning (3 FP - two for Soarin, one for Maelstrom...left around 1:30)
MK for dinner and a few more attractions. We used 3 FPs - Buzz, Barnstormer, and Pooh.

Total: 6 FPs in 2 parks

Day 4: Animal Kingdom morning (3 FP - Everest, Kali River, Dinosaur...left by 1:30)
Epcot for dinner and a few more attractions. We used 2 FP - mission space and maelstrom

Total: 5 FPs in 2 parks.

When I look back at this fabulous trip, it would have been very different and far less pleasant had we not been able to pull so many FPs. The tiering would have made it that much more stressful. With Legacy FP, we were able to have a stress free/lines free trip in mid June. I had no idea how much we actually used FP until I really looked at my notes. I have in trips planned in the future, and I can't imagine going back unless they do something about tiering and/or park hopping. In our 4 day trip during a busy season, we averaged 5 FPs per day, always over toe different parks. I've used many more than that when I've traveled without kids.

Well, I don't believe that anyone is really lying, but I do believe that they have inflated numbers. I do not believe that anyone "averages" 9 fast passes per day in WDW parks. Just don't believe it. Nothing anyone said would make me believe it.

Tell me that you might pull as many as 9 in a day on a perfect day and I would believe that, but averaged 9/day - nope.

On an "average" day in MK we would use fp's like this.

2 for BTMR
2 for Splash Mountain
2 for SM
I for PP
I for Winnie the Pooh
1 for Jungle Cruise
1 for Mickey or princesses

Sometimes we would use 1 as well at Dumbo and Barnstormer. So for sure we we would use at least 9 fp's per day.

What's not to get? Several rides were disconnected at the MK. And you don't have to wait 2 hours, just until the window on your current FP opens. If you start early, you can get a fair number before they get to the 2 hour delay.

Actually once FP time enforcement started, I believe they started experimenting with how many FPs they issued in a day, so they would know how many they could run through the system once FP+ got under way. And the more FPs they put into the system, the less lag until your return time. I pulled 6 FPs in the MK the one day we were there last June, and we didn't get to the park until 2:30. On our December 2012 trip I was shocked at how soon the return times were compared to recent years. That translated to more FPs because you could get a new one as soon as the window opened on the old one.

8-10 really didn't even require a lot of extra effort in the MK.

ITA. To the Op who stated they would "never believe someone who says they got 8/9/10 fastpasses in a day...did you ever try it? It really was not that hard at all. At MK especially, we did it all the time and for years.

I have pulled 7 or more at MK before they began enforcing return times. It was still possibe after they began enforcing return times, but much harder. And I never got close to 9/day in any other park. So, again, I do not believe the 9/day avaerage in WDW.

Most people who talk about 9/day are discussing mk. The other parks don't need 9/day...they just don't have enough attractions.

FWIW I never said I don't believe that people could use 9 or 10 FP- in a day. Where it differs is me asking for an AVERAGE. I cannot imagine someone using 9 FP at Epcot, DHS & AK....so over the course of a trip for the AVERAGE to be 9 they would have to be using close that many at ALL parks not just MK.

Example:
Day 1 = MK = 9FP-
Day 2 = Epcot = 5FP-
Day 3 = DHS = 5FP-
Day 4 = AK = 4FP-
Day 5 = MK = 9FP-
Day 6 = Epcot = 5FP-
Day 7 = DHS = 5FP-

9+5+5+4+9+5+5=42/7 = 6 as the average

Bringing down the average/day, right?

Personally, I think an average/park is a more accurate question. Of course the other parks bring down the average, because there are less attractions - but that doesn't mean the use of fp is truly less, just that the availability of it was less in other parks.

Fair point, and an idea for a separate poll. The FP+ limit really only hurts me in one park - MK. The tiering hurts me in 2 parks, but not the limit of 3.

We posted 8 but, I think there were times we used more than that. We have been to the parks when they had very long hours 8-midnight or 1:00 am. We always get two a piece for Space, Thunder, Splash, Buzz, and then we would also often get them for Jungle, Pooh, and Peter Pan.

I voted six, which is the minimum number, that we used. Also, some passes were used for the same attraction.

Oh, we park hopped too.
