How many kids would you have or want to have if you had an unlimited amount of money?

0 lol. I know its "selfish" but I don't want to spend 18-30 years of my life spending all my free time and money on people who aren't me! I prefer to come around and be the cool uncle for my siblings children and then go home and do what I want when I want.

I don't think it's selfish to not want to be a parent. The people that say that are ridiculous IMO I get that comment a lot from other people so I get it. I'd rather have the money and free time for more Disney trips + other travel.

Well we planned on 3 but due to fertility issues we have 5. Of course the thought of not having #4 and #5 makes me incredibly sad. I’d take them over money any day, and I really enjoyed having a large family (the kids always got along great, rarely argued).

It's not selfish at all, it's actually very responsible!! (Generous, even.) If everyone had a lot of kids, the planet couldn't handle it. People who are honest about wanting none balance those who want more than two. Please don't listen to anyone who calls you selfish for that.

I don't think it's possible to not have kids for selfish reasons.

If you decide you don't want kids because you don't want the hassle or you want freedom to travel or you want more disposable income or whatever you are choosing what is best for the child in question.

There are plenty of parents that treat their kids like accessories, leaving them behind to do whatever they want and fulfill whatever whim they feel. That's selfish.

I'd still say zero most likely, though should I actually have found love, then I would consider adopting given the resources. That's pretty theoretical though.

I think it is long past time for "selfish" to stop being a dirty word. Unless you're victimizing someone else, there's absolutely nothing wrong with making YOUR life choices according to your own preferences and no reason for anyone to feel ashamed of making their life what they want it to be.

Zero. Not interested in having kids at all, even with an unlimited amount of money. I'll be a crazy dog lady instead.
My husband and I are also child free dinks. It gets some pretty interesting reactions from others but I could NEVER. I think having both worked with violent adolescents, it just kind of zapped any desire to have children. Also....*gestures vaguely to the whole world*

I'm in my mid twenties and it never ceases to amaze me as how much pushback I get for choosing not to have kids. I'm lucky that my parents don't care but I get the same "wait until you're older" spiel from everyone else, including my doctor. Crazy how my decision is suddenly other people's business. Truthfully the bad behavior that I've witnessed from kids in public (Disney parks specifically) made me firmly decide not to have kids. Dog life for me lol

I think it's more selfish to have kids when you don't want them, than when someone doesn't want them and sticks to it. That's worded poorly... I don't think it's selfish at all to not want kids.
