How many Disney contests did you play today?

I am now up to 4.

There's the "What Will You Celebrate" contest. (Which I have played faithfully 6 days a week since it started and have yet to win anything!)

Then there's the AFV contest. It's the one I really want to win!

Now I am getting e-mails about the Magical Celebrations Sweepstakes.

Finally, Coke Rewards is having a Disney Cruise sweepstakes.

Do you suppose that Disney is hurting? I don't think I've ever seen a time when they've run this many sweepstakes at once!

I just started the Magical Celebrations one. They sent me info in my email about it. Wasn't sure, but seemed like that one might not include the park admission.

I did 2 today, the what will you celebrate one (still a big loser here) and the magical celebrations one.

I have to say that I like that the magical celebrations one gives you a different free gift to download every day after you enter. For awhile I kept checking the free downloads on the "what will you celebrate" contest thinking they would change it but it was always the same 2 choices. But it's more fun to pop balloons.

The same 2 as others. I always click on the link in Gisele's post when I see it, so that one I manage almost every day. Well, to be honest, after weeks of doing that and never winning, I've begun to slack off on it a bit. The other celebration one I just started yesterday after getting the email.

I also entered a Disney Fairies sweepstake and another one I can not recall at the moment, but I only did each one once. I'm not sure whether or not you can enter every day--I didn't check. Maybe I'll go do that now.

eta: ok, one was the Sleeping Beauty Royal Sweepstakes but when I clicked on the link I'd saved it only showed Disney Movie Rewards. The other was the Pixie Hollow Vacation Sweepstakes and the link I saved now says that the contest is over and winners will be announced in Feb., so hopefully I'll be posting soon with my big news.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Actually, I did win a vacation the other day. Someone called me and said I won but I told them I wasn't interested since I didn't remember ever talking to them before. It sounded very suspicious. All I know is that it wasn't Disney calling me.

Omg, I am the same way! I enter these things, then I think "Ok, if I actually win, I won't believe it and I'll toss the mail/email!!!!!" It needs to be an instant win in order for me to believe it.

Since no one has addressed this yet, I suppose I will. To answer your question, you hit the nail on the head, sadly. The Walt Disney company is hurting bad. They reported a 32 percent decline in first quarter profit.

Theme-park profit declined 24 percent to $382 million on 3.9 percent lower revenue as Disney offered discounts on lodging and merchandise in Florida and Southern California. The promotions have been extended to Aug. 15.

And that is exactly why they are running these promotions.

In a former professional life I ran sweepstakes / contests. Part of my job was notifying the winners and arranging for prize distribution. If I had $1 for every time I had to say, "Yes, seriously, you won!" or "No, I assure you I am not kidding. You have won," I could have retired.

My co-worker who sat nearby used to always laugh at how much time I spent convincing winners who I was and that they did indeed really win!

People enter, but they just never quite believe they have won! That always fascinated me.

I like the free download too. It's like a gift with purchase. The best free download/gift with entering a contest (imo) from Disney was the month of premium access for POTC online that was given out with the eBay YOMD contest. If I had my own credit card (instead of a "for emergencies only" one that's registered under my parents' name), I'd def. be buying a membership.

I have to say that with the Disney contests, I tend to enter them and then forget about them, partly because their turnaround is slow. I won a ring from their POTC contest (the one where the person got to have their image painted on a pirate in the DL POTC queue) and didn't receive it until 6 months after the contest ended (didn't even know I had won until the ring arrived in the mail).

The Coke Rewards sweepstakes is at www.cokerewards.com. You need "points" to buy chances. For the cruise they want 3 points per entry. A 12 pack of coke will give you 10 points.

I used to be lucky. The last thing I won (if you don't count Dream ears) was free Season's parking for the KC Royals. That was back in 1983 or so!!! It's been awhile!

A gal I went to high school with won a trip to Hawaii. She and her husband got to go snorkling with Chris Noth. She's the only person I know who's won a free trip.

Here's hoping that over the next few months there'll be several folks here who can say they have, too!
