Curious as to how many nights of a week vacation you actually cook dinner for the fam in the 1 or 2 bedroom you are in.

5 of the 7 are cooked in the room we have one meal out at Chef Mickeys and one meal out at either Olive Garden or another place like that. We usually go for 2 weeks so we would have 4 meals out which would consist of a meal at Sizzlers and Mc Donalds. That would be along with CM's and Olive garden

Over a week, I'd say one or two. And they are usually of the quickie format with lots of preprepared items, such as Green Giant veggies in the boil baggie, or maybe an On-Cor Dinner. I don't think I'd ever do a full dinner from scratch inroom, we're on vacation. That said, a lot of times we do inroom breakfasts, and those are more of the traditional variety.

Over the course of 12 years, I think I cooked dinner once. I can't even remember what I made. I just know that we didn't like taking the time out of our vacation to go back to the resort to prepare a meal.

We do usually have breakfast in the room, but nothing that needs to be cooked. Bagels and the like, but that's about it.

So far....zero

Planned .... zero

We have cooked breakfast - eggs and toast. And we have made peanut butter sandwiches. Both are somewhat more cooking than I thought I'd do. I kind of thought that stove was to make it look homey.

I have a trip with the whole family planned in May for 5 nights... I am planning on MAYBE one night cooking in. We may just order pizza though.

When we were there at Christmas, we made dinner 5 of the 7 nights. On New Years Eve, we did steaks on the grill, and King Crab legs. There was now way we were going to get a meal like that in the parks for what it cost to make it at home. The best part is I have 3 girls that do all the clean-up.

zero planned, zero ever made. I have trouble making dinner at home yet alone on vacation! Cooking has never been my strong suit!!:p

For our last trip (9 nights) we had 4 dinners in the villa. For this trip (13 nts) we have planned on about 5 dinners in the villa.

We usually eat bfast in the villa (this coming trip, however, we will have 2 character bfasts in there). We also usually pack a snack / lunch or eat in villa. This trip I think we have options on about 2 or 3 lunches out as well.

Part of the reason for our "shift" towards less cooking -- kids are getting a bit older, a bit easier to take to restaurant, and more capable of ordering something they will eat (and CAN eat without me having to fix this, do that, cut meat, etc. for them!) It makes dining out much more doable!

But I suspect we will always eat some portion of our meals in... personally I enjoy cooking, and we get tired of the fancy froo froo and / or fast food stuff after a while. And it's nice to relax in the villa after a long day!

Nil. Far better enjoying the restaurant meals :D :D

and we cooked alot more than I thought we would...see below. I think that this was driven by the fact that we hate paying the high prices for food that you can make better yourself at 1/3 to 1/2 the price you'd pay at the WDW restaurants. It helps that my husband loves to cook and considers this fun.

We stayed 8 nights/9 days...
-We ate breakfast in everyday (eggs, omelets, bacon/sausage, cinnamon toast, rolls/donuts, fruit) though a couple days included rolls from the Boardwalk Bakery.
-About a 1/3rd of the lunches were from food/sandwiches from our room, while the balance was at the parks either sit down or fast food (we love the turkey legs). With lunches being cheaper than dinner in most of the WDW restaurants, we typically chose to eat this meal out.
-With all the late lunches or appetizers, we only made big dinners 3 of the 8 nights (hamburgers, sphagetti, garlic bread, chicken/pork chops, baked potatoes, veges, etc). Both my husband and I like wine, so having wine glasses to drink from rather than plastic cups was a bonus we loved. We ate offsite one night at a steak place cuz w won't pay the prices on WDW for steak. The other 4 nights were frozen pizza, sandwiches and ice cream later in the evening when we got back in.

We absolutely love having the kitchen and decided that we ate healthier this trip than any other trip!

With 17 vacations down there under our belt we never turned the stove on at OKW. We never ate dinner or lunch in the one, two, or GV that we rented. We have used the toaster for begals in the morning. One time my brother bought some eggs when he was staying with us, he did use the stove for breakfast, but my wife and I never used it and I doubt we ever will.

ZERO!!! and no plans to ever cook!

I have made cereal in the morning and some sandwiches for lunch....but have never used the oven or stove top!

We plan on cooking 4-5 times of the 10 nites we'll be there. I pre-cook meals, freeze them and bring them down in a cooler (we drive). This is the first time we are staying at a DVC resort and we'll see how it goes. Plus my mom will be with us, which is an extra person to cook.

Just a note, there are good grocery stores within an easy drive (a few miles, tops) of wdw now. It's not just Goodings any longer.
