How many days?

Hello all! Early, early, early planning stages here. Thinking about visiting Universal, and WDW early January 2007. We would need to leave the USA about Jan. 10 to get our kids back to school at home. I'm thinking we need 4-5 days at WDW, we've been once and LOVED it. How many days do you recommend for Universal? We have 3 sons that will be 6 1/2, 9 1/2, 11 1/2. The little one is very tall, about 49" now at age 5. They all do big coasters now and love them. So I'm thinking if they are tall enough, they will want to ride everything. Also, should we stay onsite to get the "fastpass" option, or will it not be an issue in early January? Also, would you do WDW first or Universal? Oh, and which park would be best on weekend days? Sorry for so many questions!

Thanks!

2 nights minimum so you can do 1 park each day.. I'd say 3 though, if possible.. this way you can go back on the third and do all your favorites. :)

I absolutely agree. If you have the time, take it. Don't rush through the parks but rather take your time and go back and do the favorites again.

As far as the other questions, you won't need to stay onsite during that time of year. Once you hit mid-January, things really calm down crowd wise. I don't think it really matters which parks (WDW or US/IOA) you do first. They are completely different experiences and should both the enjoyed. I think both should have light crowds that time of year so wherever you go during the week should be very enjoyable. :teeth:

if you can i'd buy a 4 or 5 park flex. this gives you unlimited admission to universal studios, islands of adventure, seaworld, wet&wild (and busch gardens on the 5pk) for two weeks. use it as little or as much as you like. we buy one in addition to a five day pass to disney. it can be done. if your only planning on a couple of days, i would say you will need 2 days (1 for U.S and 1 for I.O.A)

as for staying on-site, you'll probably find it cheaper to stay on an off-site hotel on I-Drive. you can use the I-ride trolly or most hotels will offer a shuttlr service if you don't want to drive. the flex ticket will also cover you for city walk

Thanks so much for the help. I'm getting too excited over this trip...its WAY to far into the future!

Will it be warm enough to go to Wet and Wild Jan.2-10? Are the water parks open year round? How does Wet and Wild compare to the Disney waterparks? We love waterparks.

We are leaning toward renting a vacation home with a private pool. That just sounds so perfect to us at the moment. I will probably change my mind and want to stay on-site at WDW....no need to decide today.

Thanks again for your help.
