We are planning a trip to disney the last week of august (25-?). Usually I do the planning and do 8 days 7 nights. DH did the preliminary planning as a surprise for mother's day/anniversary. He reserved 7 days 6 nights. The way I see it, you cut two of those days in half, at least, leaving 5 days for parks. All we are doing is disney, and we are staying at the BWI. My kids are 13, 9, and 3. With the heat we will be facing, we are definately going to have to slow the pace and make sure there is some downtime.

So, my question, 7 nights 8 days, or 6 nights 7 days? We are getting the free dining, and it's another $400 with passes and room.

We travel from the western US and lose a travel day on each side due to time changes and flight schedules.

So we schedule X number of park days plus 2 travel days. Usually ends up at about 10 nights for us.

Really depends on what works for you.

Just noticed you are doing free dining.

If budget permits, I probably would do the extra day. If you really enjoy park time, the TS ADRs tend to cut into it quite a bit, even when you manage to schedule the ADR in the park or nearby.

Thanks. The dining issue is one reason why I wouldn't upgrade to the next dining option. Sit down meals would take up too much of our day.

I prefer the extra day, but dh doesn't. :confused3

I think 7 days is a good amount of time. We always like to do TS on the day we get there. and Breakfast TS on the day that we leave. If you aren't into dining than go for the extra day.

We are also going Aug 25 and we are staying until the 31st. I figured 1 day at each park and then hopping the last day to wherever we want to go back to. I didn't want to stay another day because airfare on Labor Day was crazy and my kids start school on Sept. 3. This gives us Tues, Sept 2 to get all the last minute school stuff done. It will be hot and rushed, but who cares? We will be in Disneyworld.
