As a group, several of our friends take trips. We change locations evey year or so.This year we all are getting APs and will be staying on-site some and at timeshares or condos.

My question would be how many days in each park would it take to see all the shows, attractions and rides .We're starting with 5 days from Dec 28th thru Jan 1.Will that be enough?

Welcome to the Dis!
That will be a very busy time of the year but staying on site and having 5 days should be enough to experience the parks and what the hotels have to offer as well.

Wow, that's the busiest time of year. If you're staying on-site, you'll have front of the line access, but those that don't might have to purchase it (if it's even available at that time of year). I'm afraid a lot of time will be spent in line. You can minimize your waits by getting there right at opening and heading to the 'headliners' first. But...you do have five days so you should be able to see everything you want to see there. Hope you have a great time!

The parks will be crowded, but they do stay open late, until 11pm (1am on New Years).

You can arrive early, do a few major attractions, then go back to your hotel for the afternoon and rest. Then you can come back at night for a few more hours. The busiest time is from 11am to 4pm, what I call rush hour. At 4pm, most people are tired, worn out from walking all day, kids cranky, they leave. Since it's December and temps will be cooler, I'd say these people will stay until 6 or 7pm, but after that, crowds should be less.

covered everything leisurely in two days

THanx. We switch parks every coupla years. Last 2 were Busch Garden and Sea World as Platinum Passholders.Love the perks that APs get you as we eat in the parks and do day trips for birthdays+holidays.MY DW and I have't been to US or IOA in several years so a lot will be new to us.

As for the crowds, we've done Disney,Epcot,MGM,SeaWorld and Busch Gardens the last 5 New Years or so.All late 30s to early 50s and can stand :cool1: 15hr days in the parks for days on end.

Everything? Wow! Maybe everything you were interested in but it is not possible to do everything in both parks in two days.

Is it easy to leave and return on holidays?I know Disney has a full park and a priority system for re-entry.

Still in the process of figuring out our meal schedule. We'll be on-site for the last 3 days as we figured the New Years Eve FOTL would come in handy. If it's possible we may eat at one of the nice resturants in the hotel, shower and be back.
