How many days should we plan for Universal/IOA?

We are planning a trip to Universal/IOA during the first week of August. We also plan on staying on-site so we can receive the benefits of unlimited express pass. Our kids (well, almost adults - daughters 21 and 17) love all thrill rides/shows so there isn't really much that we will be cutting out. Do you think 2 days is plenty of time to do everything considering the new HP area may be open?

Thanks!

I feel like 2-3 days is enough. And staying on site, you should get Express passes. You have to know how to plan your days correctly in order to get EVERYTHING done. My advice: do not go to Harry Potter first in the morning. Do super hero island, then head to HP later

You might want to see at least a part of the new HP area in the morning if you get early entry though...

I would shoot for three days particularly if you enjoy time at the pools. You can pool hop so my guys spent half a day just at the Hard Rock pool while I shopped. I can easily spend several days at the Universal parks so I'm probably a poor judge though. :)

first week of august will still have crowds in the park.
staying onsite will help that issue.

i would go to www.universalorlando.com and everything that is in the park.
get an idea of the park layouts and check out menus for the eateries.

since hp2 will be open, i would plan on 3 park days.
i stay onsite a lot longer than that and never run out of things to do.

shows at the studios usually have conflicting times so you would need to check out show times over a few days in order to catch them all.

Agreed a minimum of 2 days at a fast pace, or 3 if you really want to slow down, look around, go swimming, shop and enjoy things. :thumbsup2

Okay guys, ya'll have convinced me we need to do 3 days. I am so excited about this vacation. I can't wait for August 2014! Thanks for everyone's input.
