Because we live on the West Coast, we usually go for 14 days because it's easier to stay longer because the distance is so far away from home. It takes us a whole day to get there and a whole day to get back so w/all that it's better for us to stay longer.
2003 - 7 nights at GF (Fairytale vacation 7/4) Got us hooked!
2004 - 3 nights HRH, 8 nights GF
July 2005 - 2 nights at "Nick" hotel, 14 nights at GF
Jan 2006 - Marathon (1st time) we'll probably just stay 4 nights, don't know where since we'll be back in July 2007.
Disney really hooked us. When we went in 2003 we though we wouldn't probably go back until 2006 or 2007. After we went we decided we had to go at least once a year. The trip keeps getting longer. Can't wait for two weeks at Disney. Lots of people think we're crazy going to the same place every year but we love it.
We have had one trip that was less than 10 days and it was a surprise trip for MNSSHP for 6 days. The rest of them are usually 14 or more days. Another one of those that goes for as many days as we possibly can because we are just to far away to go more often.
I voted for 7-9 because two of our trips this year are going to be 7 nights/8 day but the third will only be 3 nights/ 4 days. Other than a probably 4 night trip in May of 2006, haven't really planned on whether we will do one longer 12-14 day trip in 2006 or multiple shorter ones. Probably multiple shorter ones if the vacation time works out.
Funny you asked--we have annual passes, and DH just pointed out that we have our "one weekend per month" trips planned out for February through May, with nary a trip to WDW (except for this upcoming weekend).
Since we're 2 hours away (OK, 2 hours 15 minutes door-to-door ) and have APs, we generally go for short, frequent trips (6 times last year, usually 3 nights, once or twice 2 nights). We are thinking about doing some 1 night trips--getting there Saturday around noon, spending 9 hours in the parks, spending the night in a hotel, and driving home.
I am seriously heat intolerant (even though I've lived in Florida for almost 45 years!), so I can't go to the parks from April through September --that means we have to cram in a bunch of trips during the other months!
I voted 7-9, because that's what we did on our last trip, and that's what we hope to do on all of our future trips, except the one this fall. It's just a quick getaway for DH and I before he starts back to school and our life turns to crap for a year. This trip will be 4 nights/5 days.
We voted for over 10 days (although it's really about 10 days as we leave on the 11th). We have found that for us the only way to settle in and really enjoy a vacation is to make it long and slow, not a wirlwind. Although, we are going to start throwing in a wirlwind vacation in early spring of next year for 3-5 days to spend in Epcot with the kids learning (we are Homeschool Diser's).
We do take long weekend occasionally but usually we stay for at least 7 days. Our trips now are seeming to be 10 days or more though. But that is still pretty recent and I dont want to jinx it so I voted for 7. LOL
We usually go for 5 nights because my inlaws belong to the vacation club so we go Sun-Thur to use the lower amount of points. Every now and then we stay a little longer in our camper at Fort Wilderness. Now that they have introduced the new ticket prices, I would love to go stay at the campground for 2 weeks!! Maybe then we could finally get to do everything in one trip!

DH and I spend 7 days at Disney. 2 of them are travel days, 4 are park days, and one day is totally dedicated to Downtown Disney or other "Disney" events, spa treatments, minature golf, resort hopping, etc.
We have gone for 7 nights in the past but this year we are going for 11 days. I want to take it easy and really enjoy the parks and the WL resort. This is our family's first stay on site.
Because of high DVC points on Friday and Saturday nights, we usually do 6 nights, Saturday to Friday. The most I have done is 7 nights, the least 1 night (actually part of a business trip).
