Hi I am making my girls a autograph book and I was wanting to know how many pages do I need for autographs? we are going to all the parks (not the water parks) in may. can someone help me?

That depends on how much time you want to spend chasing characters. Last June we went for 1 week, when all was finished, we had pictures with almost 30 different characters. But that includes a couple of character meals.

I agree with the PP...It depends on how much of your trip you are planning on hunting them down. You can easily waste many hours waiting for ariel, Princesses, fairies ,Mickey, Minnie at MK etc.We came back with 25 signatures and that was between character dining, and waiting

Yep. It totally depends on the amount of time you spend searching for them and the amount of character meals you go to.

A year ago Jan, I was able to get 75 autographs in 7 days. But that was with a character meal every day and spending a lot of time hitting all of the character hot spots. And I missed close to ten others that I saw but wasn't able to get to in time.

Unless you really want to make it your mission, I'd be satisfied with a book with 30 to 50 pages.

And since you're making your book remember that most of the pictures are taken sideways since the characters are so big. Think about making your pages go "long ways" instead of sideways. Does that make sense?

My husband & I stalked characters :rotfl2: in January and I got 76 signatures (no duplicates) but we looked for them. When we took our kids last August they got 25 and most were at character dining. The kids did not want to wait for any characters.

Try this site:http://sites.google.com/site/wdwcharacterhunt/home/parks

This site is kept updated by a WDW CM, the redhead in the photos!

She has lots of tips on where, when and how to meet Characters! There are other sites but I trust and recommend her's because 1. She is a CM. 2. She spent a lot of time getting all those photos! 3. She post regularly on the DIS, giving tips for meeting Characters. 4.Just look at the Photos, She loves WDW just like the rest of us!

During our trip last year, we ended up with 76 just in the parks.

As others have said it really depends on how obsessed you are going to be with characters... if they are going to be your main focus it is possible to get 70+ signatures (although some of those may be duplicates) like some have said. If you aren't going to be doing tons of character meals, aren't going to bother with getting the same character to sign more than once, and arent going during a special event with extra characters (like Star Wars weekends) I would think you would be fairly safe with around 50 pages... if you are looking to keep it smaller (or aren't really going to be trying to get as many characters as possible) I would say 30 might be ok... the first ones can rack up fast if you do things like the Character Spot, the various greeting trails in AK, toontown, etc.

On our first trip, 20. The second trip, 60. A lot of our character greetings were at character meals, those are easy to add up because you know which characters are there. Always got Mickey and Minnie at MK, and the Pooh characters at Crystal Palace restaurant. At Epcot, there's the Epcot Character Spot with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald. Animal Kingdom had Flick, Pocahontas, Baloo, King Louie, Rafiki, Timon, and a few others. Hollywood Studios also had a lot - Mickey, Up Characters, Monsters, Power Rangers, Incredibles, Green Army Man...... I probably forgot a few. We also had some characters sign tshirts with their character on it, instead of the autograph book.

And we hardly ever waited in line, at least not for very long. Although I did see some long lines in MK. But we also went at a non-busy time of year.

We are planning to book CM and Akershus (that's 9 pages minimum there!) + MNSSHP as well as planning to visit certain areas of the park where characters are known to be. When I did our books, I think I put in 35 pages for each book. I believe we'll be covered. I'm not going to let the kids get 5 autographs from Mickey (like last time...).

Looking back at this, maybe I should add 5-10 more pages...

I dont think that we will be chasing them down to get the autograph but I do want the kiddos to see most of them because this is our first trip to WDW and they are excited about seeing alot of them so what I might do is make each of them one with so many pages and just bring back up to keep in the room that way I can just add more if it looks like they dont have very many for the next day. What I think im going to do is use colored index cards and put them on a binder ring and when I get home I am going to make them each a scrapbook of WDW!

Good! You'll find a lot there that you'd have to wait in long lines to find elsewhere.

Personally I think that you can find dozens in the parks with little effort!

Have fun!

Depends how much time you want to spend in line for this. I dont thikn you'll want to see "Most" of the characters. You could literally spend almost the entire day chasing down autogrpahs and miss the rest of the parks!

On our most recent trip, the only autographs the kids got, I think, was one character meal. but that was unusually low. We tend to do more like 20 or maybe 25.

Typically we won't wait in long lines for them, and typically, over a week we see enough short lines. I usually book ONE character meal - at MOST two, but typically only one. Thre a couple of bundle spots: late night onthe hub of MK, the studios at HS, and the character grret at Epcot. The lines at Epcot are now really long.

The regular Disney autograph books that the park sells have about 50pages. (I just happen to still have one.) We've never come close to filling one, but I suppose you COULD spend much more time in line getting them.

Most character meals have about five characters who come around. So keep that in mind. you also might do slightly more if you are thre for a hard ticket event, like the Halloween party. Many of the character are princesses, so I'm guessing a boy would tend to have fewer characters.

Last year in a 5 day trip, my son got 45 autographs. We did 3 character meals, and if we saw a character we stopped to see them. He saw 5 different Donalds which he thought was very cool :) I'm hoping to get around the same this year when we go in June.
