How many BW view 1 BRs are there?

I was wondering because I called this morning for reservations for the first week in January, and was surprised to learn that all the BW view rooms are booked. I really wasn't expecting that (although honestly, I didn't know what to expect)-it's a slow time of year. Right now we're in a Preferred View, and on the waiting list for a BW view. What do you think my chances of the waitlist are? I was just quite surprised BW view wasn't available. Are there that few of them?

The Disney marathon is the 9th, it brings in a lot of people for the weekend. That could be part of it as I know I had to wait list for boardwalk view over marathon weekend last year and I called pretty early.

I saw it posted somewhere, I think it was only like 16. There are more BW view studios than anything else.

Wow, only 16! And I'd forgotten about the marathon. I'll just keep my fingers crossed for the next 7 months (hopefully much less) for one to come through for me on the wait list.

Boardwalk view ( as well as standard view) rooms generally book up well before the 7 month window opens no matter what time of the year it is. There are occasionally reports of someone getting one at the 7 month window (or even closer to the date of arrival), but they are by far an exception to the norm.

That tally is correct. And I agree that the marathon is playing a part in the equation. I switched from a 1BR BoardWalk view to a 2BR back in March, and barely got all 8 nights covered. Still, I think the chances of the waitlist clearing are probably decent. It's always hard for runners to predict this far out whether or not they'll be able to run... I suspect some plans will change between now and then.
