WHat's the longest you would consider staying at Disney for a vacation? We're purchasing annual passes, and since I'm a teacher... I was thinking about 3 weeks. Would you split a reservation into 2 different hotels? Do you think you would get "disneyed-out"? Also, can annual passholders get the dining plan? Do you think they'll be free dining in August?

Sorry about all the ????????!

I would love to be able to do a 3 week vaca at WDW!! 3 weeks would give the opportunity to do a lot at your pace, parks, water parks, DTD. For that long you may want to consider staying in a place with a kitchenette/suite to be able to go back to the room to eat. It would be so nice to take advantage of the pools and relax, unfortunately not happening for us!

Ive been for over 3 weeks and still didnt get Disneyed-out! I agree with Ilandrazdsw, you should look at staying somewhere with cooking facilities, it is nice sometimes to just stay in, eat in and rest (and can save you $$$$$)

There is so much to do that you can easily stay busy for 3 weeks - the parks is just half of it!
Get as much use out of your AP as possible!

Yes, passholders can get the dining plan without having to by a MYW ticket. However, if you want to take advantage of free dining, you will have to buy a one day base ticket. I'm pretty sure they'll offer it again. I booked it as a bounceback when I was there in september this year.

I love Disney but I would not spend 3 weeks in a row there. I think a week in a heaf is enough.

3 weeks sounds like heaven to me! :cloud9:

(DH would disagree - but he could stay home!)

My mom was there for 6 weeks this spring. My dad and I did a version of child swap (he flew home and I flew down for 10 days then we switched back). I don't think she got Disney-d out because she went back for two weeks in October with her brothers and sisters.

3 weeks and I could actually relax - instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off! (I have to go here - no here - no there!) There is no rest for the weekly.

For the past 2 years, we have spent the entire month of February on grounds, in a DVC Resort. Sure beats the weather back home.:yay:

I actually asked last time about "purchasing" a room at one of the value resorts.Ya know in case I win powerball or something. No can do. However...me and my lady we would never Disney-out.We could see spending a whole year or so there...if we had the funds which we do not.

Lest one forget (if it is not verboten on here) Universal and sea world are nearby. also Cirque Du Soleil Moon Frye is. And such nice cheap breakfast buffets in Kissimmee.

Have a gasser. :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

How about FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:
The longest we have stayed is 18 days, but I am trying to convince DH to go for a month.... will see.
In one year will have been 3 times for a total of 35 days, but I would be nice to take sometime and sight see some more too.

3 weeks sounds great - if you have the time, it would be so fun!

You could also invite close friends or family to join for part of the time.

If it were me, for that long, I would forgo the dining plan. Instead, I would consider renting a small house with a pool. You won't be cooped up in a hotel room, and can fix even simple meals. The one thing I do tire of is dining out - okay not that much - but sometimes DD wants some mac and cheese and DS wants some ramen, or we just feel like being lazy and hanging out, a house would let you have some space. And a washer/dryer of your own.

It would definitely cost less than a hotel room. I haven't done this, but I would if I were going for so long.

You could still buy the TIW card, so you'd save on your Disney meals. Then you could also explore restaurants in the area, and I think some deliver if you're tired.

I think a month would be about right for me (not in the hotter months though), but longer would be ok too. :thumbsup2

7 days seems perfect to me. My recent trip was 11 days, and it was a bit too long. Not that Disney isn't a wonderful place to be, but I get antsy after living out of a hotel room for that long.

We just spent twelve days for our first time at WDW. It was just right for us. We have a nine year old daughter and we had time for a small nap everyday (maybe more for Dad and I :rotfl2: ) But we did not have any meltdowns or temper tantrums at all. Believe me, we saw a lot of other famlies that did.

We went to Disney for the first time in November and stayed 15 nights. We would have LOVED to stay longer. Next time, I'd like to go for 3 weeks. We have 4 kids ages 6, 5, 3, 1. Everyone did great. We went at a great pace for us and we were able to see pretty much everything that was on our list. We already miss and it and want to go back asap.

10 days would be ideal for me:) I love it, but...I would want to go back again so 10 days would do me just fine..but that won't happen:)

Over all our stays, 41 so far, the ideal time period seems to be 9-12 nights. This gives us a chance to enjoy the world at a leisurely pace, have some pool time and just really enjoy Disney for what it is, a vacation. Any longer than that, don't think so, after 12 nights, we're resorted out, had enough restaurant food and are ready to head home.
