How long would you stay??

We are staying in a Windsor Hills condo for 2 weeks in June. We plan on getting 10 day tickets with water parks and more and also checking out Cocoa Beach. We have thought about Universal/Seaword, but I'm not sure about those yet. We decided this after staying for one week last time. We missed sooo many things at Disney(and we didn't even go anywhere else!) Ya gotta love the Windsor Hills condos...how else could we go for 2 weeks!! Staying for two weeks, I am sure the kids will be ready to get back home (?maybe), but truthfully I imagine there will still be alot we will want to do the next time we are in the area!!

I think I could pull off a few weeks and not get Disney'd-out. I'd love to take up semi-permanent residency in Cinderella's Castle :wizard:

We've done 10 days and it's not nearly enough. I'd say 3 weeks would be perfect.

So far, the longest WDW vacation we've done is 7 nights. DD and I will be going down for 10 nights next month, and I am really excited to have the time to *TRY* to de-commando and relax. If I had unlimited $$ and time, I'd LOVE to do WDW for a minimum of 2 weeks. It would be great to just relax and do things at a nice slow pace.

Nine nights was great, but not quite long enough. I think two weeks would be my maximum.

I think three weeks sounds heavenly. :cloud9: If I could stay that long, I would. Our last trip to WDW was my DH's first trip and he wanted to do everything. We were there from Saturday-Saturday and by Wednesday we were both exhausted from getting up early, going to bed late and having absolutely NO down-time. (I actually fell asleep on a park bench at Epcot because I was so tired.) We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and I feel like we didn't have enough time to enjoy the resort. We both said that next time we return to WDW we need to add extra days so we don't have to go, go, go every second of our trip. We also knew we'd probably have kids and we'd need down-time for them to nap and swim. For our upcoming May trip we are booked for nine nights, but I am thinking we may add an extra night. Nine nights just doesn't seem long enough - heck, ten nights doesn't either, but my DH doesn't want to use all of his vacation time. If I could stay for three weeks I'd like to visit other places like SeaWorld, Universal Studios, maybe the beach, etc. If you have the time to take, I say do it. I'm sure you won't regret it. I know I wouldn't.

We've stayed 10 days and after that we were ready to come home. The beauty of staying a long time is that you are not rushed to see everything. You can take it in stride and see other Orlando attractions as well.

last year we did 2-8 day trips and although the first was my DH and DD first time- we felt rushed to see EVERYTHING-which we all know is impossible! This year we did 15 days and it was puuurrrrfect!!!!:lovestruc We went at our own pace, never felt rushed and were very thankful for those extra days considering I got sick and lost 2 1/2 days fighting off a cold or something. If I could afford it-I would do 3 weeks! But then again I might not be able to bring myself to leave;)

DH and I have done 3 two week trips. We're just (as in yesterday) back from our first 3 week trip, staying in our camper at FW. We did NOT want to come home!!

We both decided that 3 weeks gave us time to do everything Disney-related at a leisurely pace, and still enjoy FW and have plenty or R&R time to boot. I think a 4th week would have been perfect.

Then again, we came home to 18 degrees and 2 feet of snow, so.... all winter is starting to sound better and better! :rotfl:

3 weeks would be great! We usually stay 2 weeks, one year 16 days. Could stay the extra time without hesitation. Gives time for R&R not just parks every day.

Several months ago someone here asked if, given the opportunity, would you stay on property for a year. Having just come back from a week, I answer a resounding... YES! Picture it ....visit just 3 or 4 attractions a day, people watch, wander around all of the resorts, and there are enough restaurants, both CS and TS that you would hardly ever have to repeat a restaurant, and probably never duplicate a meal. Anyway, I'd love to have the chance to try!

My husband and I are also both teachers and we stayed for a month last June and July and loved it. We were not ready to leave and probably could have stayed the rest of the summer. We also had annual passes and so we would only spend a few hours at the parks or maybe just go into one at night to have dinner and watch the fireworks. Both of our kids (4 & 8) also loved it and would have stayed longer. We did stay in condo's the whole time. Two were off property and one was our first stay with DVC at the Boardwalk. I enjoyed switching properties as we never tired of the amenities. We ate breakfast for the most part in the condo and then ate out as needed. We also cooked several simple meals for lunch or dinner at the condo.

We had the chance to try other Disney parks (water parks and Disney Quest) as well as DTD and miniature golf. My husband also managed to play several rounds of golf at Disney.

Eating breakfast and some lunched and dinners saved us a lot of money although when we moved to the Boardwalk we tried the dining plan for the first time and tried a lot of great restaurants.

We had such a great, relaxing vacation that we are already planning another month this summer including the cruise.

As much as I dearly love Disney-and I do!-I think it might be possible to get "Disneyed out". I have not had it happen yet ( I have made over 30 trips to the World) but I would love the chance to test the theory! You did not mention what time of year you'd be staying but since you teach, I would have to assume it would be summer. With that in mind there would be no way in the world I would spend 3 weeks in the miserable, sweltering, nasty Florida heat/humidity on purpose even if it is in my beloved WDW.Just a thought...:sad2: My humble but been there done that opinion.
If you could break up the time a little and go over Christmas break then you'd be in!

I would stay the whole winter! I don't think its possible for me to get Disneyed out but I think my kids would.

3 weeks???

We go at our own pace and pretty much see everything we want in 5-6 days usually. I could see 10 days with some days spent at Universal or in Orlando, etc.

I love WDW, but I know how I am with things I love. And being there 3 straight weeks would probably take some shine off of the magic.

Too much of a good thing, if you will.

I mean, if you only go for a few days you'll want to return back sooner, because you'll leave wanting more!

For those of you who enjoy 3 weeks or longer....are you staying in one hotel room the whole time? I think I'd go crazy...especially if traveling with kids. We usually stay in a multi-bedroom condo and that is perfect. But even after 11 days I'm kind of ready to head home.
