How long will the GOLD castle be there?

I'm sure this answer is on this board here some where, but I really haven't visited this board in a year. And last December we didn't go to MK with my parents - just the other parks.

Just planned a quick trip back to the world for December...and now I'm wondering if I'll get to see the Gold version of the MK castle.

Well....I know it may be going away at some point in 2006, but to be quite honest it has grown on me and I really. I wish they would consider leaving it like that perminantly, minus the large mirror in the front. I like the mirror for now, but could live without it.

I agree, I love the gold and the characters flying around the spires. I wasn't sure about all the gold at first, especially after the pink "frosting" disaster, but it has really grown on me and now I love it, especially the flying characters. I can do without the huge mirror though too.

Yes, until the end of the celebration. It is supposed to be 18 months and started in May of this year, so October 2006 sounds right.

I really love the Gold on the Castle...I don't want it to come down i think it looks great on the castle...maybe they could take down the big mirror but i still like the mirror!...I wisht hey would keep it i will miss it!

I wish they would leave it gold too! It was so beautiful! I kept looking at it as we were leaving MK and telling my DH I will never see it that way in person again once the celebration is over so I had to keep staring at it "one last time".

I read somewhere that the celebration ends Sept. 30, 2006. I know that the Disney Visa Meet & Greet photo thing ends 9/30, and it was supposedly in conjunction with the Happiest Celebration on Earth. I'm bummed, because we'll be arrive Oct. 4th! I would think the castle would stay gold through the end of the year, but I'm just guessing.
