How Long Will It take?

This will be me and my son(2yr) first time at WDW and I am so excited I have a schedule and if you guys could tell me how long would it take for me to do these things in the park, I will list day and the things we want to do,I tried to do all things pretty close together,my son is not a big whiner and rolls with the punches,and loves to go, but I do know that I will need to allow for a nap but he can go 5 to 6 hours before he Zonks out!Thank God he is not a 2 year old that has meltdowns so here goes!I just need estimate in hours please Thanks A Million! Oh and I must tell you about my little Arnold Swarsnegger lol muscles and all but comes armed with a sippy cup in his first WDW Adventure Guys, My Son Is a 2yr old Soldier,he was born at 28 weeks 2lbs 7oz, and has had numerous health problems,surgery,and etc,we live in Georgia and the heat is no factor, he is free of all health problems and is a picture of health,WDW will be a walk in the park for him but me, that is the question if no one follows the schedule it will be me!I have figured schedules and plans do not go like we always expect and whatever we dont do that day we can do the next day and whatever we dont get to see,will be just another excuse to plan another trip to WDW

Allears.net has estimated times for shows and some rides. This might help you out.

Remember though that it depends on when you go and how long you want to linger and look around etc.... Always plan for down time and just enjoying all around you.
We usually do World showcase in a few hours BUT... it depends on if we catch a show... how many of the rides or movies we watch.. if we eat along the way..... There is a lot to see and it is nice to just stroll along.

im sorry im confused by your schedule. are these the only things you plan to do?
do you really think you wont want to eat lunch until on friday until after pocahontus? i think you may want to plan eating earlier?

and im completely confused about your first day? im assuming you are arriving late and want to see spectro. if you plan to arrive at the park at 8, youll see people are already sitting for spectro. but you plan to go over to magic carpets first and then come back? i dont know that thats a great idea? i think i would just arrive 20 minutes later and sit for spectro.
is MK open late that day? will you have time to over to fantasy land that day? will you be in MK another day other than that one day?

Couple of thoughts
First I think you schedule is do able...Your not planning on too much any day.

First day: (with wait times? 3 hours?)
If you enter at 8pm and Parade at 9pm, crowd will be forming already. While you can do Alladin, you might have a little trouble getting a curb view of the parade.

Second day: ( Id' guess 4-5 hours since your eating twice)
Hitting the Kilo first is a good idea. Pangi time will vary depending on Lion King. Plan on getting there about 45 minutes before show time to allow a good seat or you might miss out.
I thought I read Pocahanas is closing. So you might want to check that.

Third Day: (about 3 depending on wait at Toy Story)
Go to Toy Story Mania 1st. (and Second, you'll love it enough to do again.) Muppets are rarely that busy, mostly you can walk in.
So plan that and Playhouse depending on Beast show times.

Day 4: Too many variable because I don't think your son will be able to ride any of them. But if you did them? 2-3 hours i'd guess.
Hope you have a tall 2 year old because there are height restictions on all those and he might not be tall enough for any of them.
Especially Mission Space.
May I suggest Seas with Nemo and Journey to Imagination instead?
(my 3 year old loved Spaceship Earth for some reason)

As for World Showcase? depends on how many of the movies and shows you wait for and how much shopping you would do. Can be walked by in about an hour, can take a full day. depends on you interests

Like previous post suggested look ride times to get better exacted times per ride.
But a few notes: Now it does look like your planning on too much. Sorry.

Again, Toy Story Mania will have HUGE lines unless you hit it first even then it still might be 45 minutes.

MK thoughts:
There's NO way you you can hit Pirates and Jungle in that time.
Someone else can correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think they even open till 10am. Thus you won't be done with even one by 11:15. much less have had time to get to Animal Kingdom. Plan on taking at least an hour from leaving 1 park to get to another.
Aerials Gotto will be at least an hour if you plan on seeing Ariel.

Tip: And as a father of 3 year old...plan on hitting Fantasyland first thing in the morning one day or you'll wait in line for hours.

AK.
If you want to hit Finding Nemo Musical you MUST get in line an hour before the show begins So plan on at least 2 hours for that alone. And thus there's no way you'll get to Planet Hollywood.

You might want to prioritize you things of importance and cut back.
Sorry.
That and it's your child so you know better than me but there's no way my kid would make the schedule. Too long of days.

The two big things that stuck out to me were -
#1 on Sat Sept 6, you have listed to get FP for Soarin' when you go to LeCellier for dinner. There is about a 1 in a million chance that FP will still be available at that time of day. They're usually gone by early afternoon.
#2 your little guy must be some kind of trooper if he can handle that schedule. My DH wouldn't be able to do it! Staying out at a park until midnight, then getting back to the hotel and into bed, then up and back out to a park by 8 a.m. the next day will be tough. Like others have said, you know your son best; I'm sure he'll let you know if he's had enough!

well since you asked, these are my thoughts,fwiw anyway.

1.i think your first day at MK isnt timed well. how late is MK open? i dont think youll be out of there by 10 if you plan to do rides after spectro. where do you plan to see spectro? im guessing at the end of the route in frontierland?
2. i dont think youve left yourself enough time to do everything in AK. you want to do all that and eat at flame tree by 1:00? the shows only run at certain times, its very unliekly you will walk up to each show and just walk into it.
3. like others said, do toystory first. there is never a line at muppets, but the line at toy story will be the longest you see all week.
4. like the pp said, on the magic kingdom day you are going to need more time to see ariel and do those 2 rides. and then you want to be to animal kingdom before 12, its not going to happen, jmo.
5. theres no way you will be out of AK by 2 that day.


ok, im going to stop there. honestly i think you are doing way to much hoping in and out of places for someone whos never been and has a very small child. getting from place to place takes a lot of time. you have planned all very late nights and very early mornings, i dont think you or your child will be able to stay on this schedule. i do see oyu planned naps, but from a mom whos been there, they arent just going to take a nap because it was planned. youll find your child will fall asleep on the bus or in the car between things, which will ruin the nap.

i think you are just going to have to cut back a bit and be really flexable with your schedule.

I used to work there and have visited more times that 1 person deserves to. So Let me suggest another plan for you. You can take it or leave it.
But I think it will be more do-able.

First, I think your trying to hit too many rides and too many sit down meals. This is your first time, you'll want to hit the rides over sit down meals. Plan on more grab and go meals to save time. And don't hop so many parks in 1 day. You'll waste too much time travel between parks.

This plan hits most of the big attractions you listed. and leaves you plenty of sit down meals to enjoy also.

And Remeber: THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING. Even experience people who go commando style don't see and do everthing in 1 trip.


Sept 4th
Magic Kingdom.
Get a space for Specto near the circle in front of the Castle on the Adventureland/Liberty Square side, and grab a snack while you wait.
After parade, hit Jungle or Pirates. (doubt you'd have time for both.)
(remember just because the Parade starts at 9pm doesn't mean it goes past you at 9pm)

Sept 5th
Animal Kingdom.
Be at the entrance at 8am
Go to Kilo Safari first, then walk trail.
do Dinoland USA (maybe 1 adults can watch child while other rides Everest in Single riders line)
till 1 hour before Nemo and get in line.
(you won't be able to do Nemo and Lion King, there's not time)

(Nap time)

Diner Ohana 7pm



Sept 6th
Hollywood Studios at 8am
Hit Toy Story First, then Muppets, then Playhouse Disney and then Beauty and the Beast.

This sounds like a good plan. Remember, you can always add things if you find you and your son are up to it. It is so much easier if you arrive early and get the more popular activities done first.

I would suggest that you pick up an Unofficial Guide and read it and look at it's touring plans. WDW is so much more than just running from one ride to the next and from one meal to the next. There is so much to see and the little things that you may miss.

I used the touring plans twice now and got done so much more than I thought we would. There is also Tour Guide Mike who is this forums sponsor, his link is at the top of the page. I have not personally used him but I have heard good things.

Hey. I'm from GA also and have taken several nieces and nephews with me when they were 2. Ours weren't big nap takers at a set time and if we planned for a nap they weren't sleepy then or they had already crashed in the car\bus\monorail\restaurant so they didn't sleep when we got back to the resort or offsite hotel. Mostly while at the parks they tended to nap in the stroller which allowed us to do some of the adult things and saved a ton of time going back and forth from the parks to the resort\hotel.

I agree with others that you are hopping around too much. I would either drop some sit down meals or rework your schedule so that your meals are in the park you are at that day. Personally when we've done alot of sit down meals like you are planning we lost alot of park time and the kids ended up trying to sleep thru some meals because it was cool inside and they were sitting. Even if they were starving right before we sat down those little eyes just shut and they were out so your naptime after lunch might need to be adapted cause most likely a nap will happen either at lunch or in transit to the hotel.

Good luck. The times we got the most done we stuck to one park each day, counter service lunch, naps in the stroller, maybe a sit down dinner but usually just counter service dinner and repeat the next day. The kids liked the sit down meals much better on nonpark days.

You have epcot on your Sat day in the evening past 9pm. I'm not sure if those attractions are opened at that time?

I was also wondering if those attractions would be open at Epcot after 9:00 pm. I think Future World closes at 9:00 and World Showcase stays open until 11:00.

Also, may I suggest considering time spent at the hotel pool. My 20-month-old twins enjoyed a trip to the pool immensely, either in lieu of naps (after they napped in stroller/on bus back to hotel) or a refreshing dip after naps before returning to the parks.

I would definitely allow for flexibility in the schedule and time to soak up the Disney atmosphere. Have a great trip!!

I think you're trying to do too much in too little time. There's a lot of walking time, too. To get from MK entrance to Fantasyland can take 10 minutes at least (walking fast, pushing a stroller, with no delays in front of you...which won't happen. There's always people in your way at MK )

And I agree with the suggestion of getting more meals in the parks your going to be in if you can. The sit-down meals take a lot of time...count on at least 75 minutes per buffet, 90 min. per menu restaurant. Some are closer to 2 full hours. Then add the extra travel time from resort restaurants to parks and you're taking away a lot of park time. Especially since you have so many restaurant picks that have you leaving a park, going to a resort to eat, then going back to your resort, then going to another park. It can take as long as an hour to go from one park to another, if you're using Disney busses & such it can take a lot longer. And you have to add the time to walk across the park to the bus loading or parking lot...depending on where you are in the park, it can take you 30 min. just to get to the bus area or your car. Then add drive/travel time. Way to much hopping around, IMO.

Are you doing the child-swap option on all those "big" rides...cuz I doubt there's a 2 year old out there that will meet the height requirments. If you're doing the child-swap, those rides will take you twice as long to do, since you & DH will be riding at 2 different times.
