Took me just under 3 hours to vote.. Long, cold, rainy morning but well worth it. Everyone was in a good mood and just chit chatting..Very little political talk at all.

I waited 10min for the polls to open, and then was done 25min later.

The whole process took 30min longer than it usually does.

There were well over 100 people in line when I left so I shudder to think what it will look like later today!

Our county voted to do mail-in ballots (unfortunately) because I always enjoyed going to the polls in person!

How mad are those queues! We've been seeing them on TV over here.

Why aren't there more polling stations? There would be a riot if that happened over here - either that or people simply wouldn't bother to wait. I always just walk up to our local polling station, and have never had to queue in my 28 years of voting.

I know that you have a larger population than us (about 5 times) but that should mean you have five times the number of polling stations too. Especially considering how very important the democratic process is in the USA, and also that you've had well over a year to plan them!

It all seems a bit strange and disorganised to an outsider looking in.

We do all "mail-in ballots" in Clark Co. as well -- which I prefer, because I actually sent mine in several days ago. :thumbsup2

Yeah it was raining here too. Oh, yeah, that's right we both live in Virginia. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish. We almost had a riot because there were two lines. One for last names A to L the other for M to Z. When you got closer the lines were broken down for last names A to E, F to L, M to R and S to Z. This one lady was mad and upset that she had been in line since 6:00 a.m. and how was it fair that the people in the back of the line, go in before her, because their last name was not in the F to L. She was literally yelling at the lady who worked for the polls. She told the lady that there should just be one line and who cared about the alphabet. Well the people running the polling broke the check in sheets into four lines to help move things along faster. Most people were mad because there were a lot of Jones and Johnsons and Browns. Then there was just one line to submit your ballot and the same lady was mad she had to wait in yet anther line. I understood what she was saying but the poll people did the best they could. At least they moved us to the high school, instead of using the small church in the neighborhood that had no parking. I am sure this won't be the last "riot" story we hear today.

Congrats to all who survived their voting location.

Oh my...I hope I don't have to stand there for long. I know its important however I have a ton of other things to do!!

Hmmmm stand in line to vote....or clean up the yard before it snows? Maybe I would rather stand in line! :rotfl2:

i waited about 20 minutes my mom next town over signed in and voted right away:thumbsup2

I waited 15 minutes for polls to open, then about 5 minutes after that. It really helps to have your sample ballot filled out to help you remember all the local races and referendums.

I walked right in!

My 3 little girls went with me and sat so nice and quietly :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: ...... I am proud to live a country where a woman is free to cast her vote and I want my daughters to grow up knowing how important is and to NEVER take that for granted!

GO VOTE! :thumbsup2

I walked right in at about 10:30. My DH went at 6:10 this morning and waited 30. My dad went at the same time, saw the lines and went to work.

I walked right in at 9:45 am.

The people working there said that there was a crowd at "rope drop" but after that it was just steady.

My DH walked in at 11:00 am.

There is usually a rush again after people get off of work!

Would've taken 5 minutes, if they hadn't put me on the INACTIVE LIST!!! grrrrr

Took 15 minutes to fix everything.

I expect the lines will be back around 4pm on.

I didn't get there until about 7:05 or so, and there were two ways to vote. You could choose electronic touch screen or the traditional punch hole "chads".

I wanted electronic, and there was a line of 6 for that. I could have walked up to an open punch area if I wanted to get out faster.

I got there at 6:48, was first in line, opened at 7:00, done at 7:03.

Rainy day here too. Took my daughter with me so she could learn what a privilege it is to be an American, even let her push the button. We walked right up and signed my card and only one person ahead of me. Took 3 minutes max.

I did early voting this past Saturday and was in line for about 35 minutes. I looked for a Fastpass machine but couldn't find one.

I was actually kind of sad that I didn't have to wait at all. Maybe it was timing, I went at 9:30, but my DH went at 6:45 and didn't have to wait either. I like seeing the lines, not that I like waiting, but it means people are doing their duty as Americans. Hopefully more will show up after work. I know a bunch of people not voting, they say they don't like either. I find it hard to believe that after 2 years of this stuff youdon't feel yourself leaning one way or another, but that's me. I happily voted, I took my DD6 who wanted to push the button and she was proud to do that. Now, we sit and wait to see....

DH went when the polls opened and was number 34. It took him awhile since three of the people ahead of him had no idea how to operate the voting machine. :sad2:

I went around 11 and there was no wait. :thumbsup2
