How long until you can get FL Resident Discount?

I have no idea which sub-forum this would fit in, so if you need to move it please do!

I have been in the serious stages of getting myself moved from MA to FL and I was wondering how long after finding a place in FL and living there do FL resident rates apply?
Is it once I get a FL license? Or once I have a FL address of my own there that I can get mail to? I'm assuming in order to get FL resident discounts, I would need to prove my residency, but what exactly does Disney (or any theme park) require to show as proof?

Any and ALL help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am not currently living in Florida yet, but some of my friends have moved down there within the past 2-3 months and are also wondering so I decided to ask the wonderful DIS for all of us

It is once you are able to prove you are a Florida resident. (Driver's license has higher burden of proof, so no need to wait until you can do that.)

Bank statement or utility bill will work.
Financial institution documents may be the quickest to obtain.

A utility bill or a lease/rental agreement will provide proof of residency. If those aren't in your name, then you may have to wait for your Driver's license.

A lease agreement is NOT sufficient.

A utility bill or bank statement (not a CC statement) with a FL address would be.

In Florida, sometimes they will transfer drivers license status, meaning you may not have to take written or driving test, and an actual license is issued on the spot. When I moved from California, we just made an appointment at the Tags/Tax office, (don't think it is called DMV here) went in, they were great and took my picture a few times until we all liked it!!!!!! and I walked out with my Florida License without any testing YAY!!! You will need 2 of the following: rental agreement, bank statement, 1-2 utility bills or contracts in your name as proof of resident though.

I think you're talking about using your lease for a driver's license, but the lease doesn't work for Disney proof of residency (mortgage statement does). The utility bill will, but of course you have to wait until you get your first bill.

• Valid Florida driver's license
• Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)

• Automobile insurance policy or bill
• Utility bill

If you noticed, I was responding to the quote I quoted in regards to only the driver's license. My original post to the OP linked to the Florida resident pass requirements and I never stated that a lease was suitable.
