Just wondering how long it took you to clear MCO from landing to car pickup as immigration and security are bound to be tight. I know everyone will have different experiences but I can then paln to an average. We are renting from Dollar and landing on a Saturday afternoon if this is any help,
much pixie dust,

Hi,
Took us about an hour when we arrived in April but I have known it take nearly twice as long.
The first line you hit is for immigration then you go over to the baggage claim. Your next step is customs where if your lucky you will just pass through without stopping although we have been stopped by the Dept. of Agriculture at the same check point. After this you place your baggage on a conveyor belt and go up an escalator to the security check point, this can cause a bit of a delay as it's a real bottle neck. Once through you then catch the train to the main terminal where you pick up your baggage again. Some people split up here and while one waits for the bags the other sorts the car hire. Once you have your bags and your car paperwork it's straight across the road to the Dollar garage.

Mick.

It took us half an hour 3 weeks ago.

We were PE though and therefore were first off the plane and our cases were on the belt as we were going through passport control.

We were not picked for bag scans and were also waved through the search area at the top of the escalators where again there was no queue.

No one in the Virgin queue at Dollar (guess they were all behind us)

We were leaving the airport 35 mins after touch down but I think we were probably a bit lucky.

Thankyou for your replies. I am not holding out much hope as we land on New Years Day and I just have this gut feeling its gonna be busy. Still, I will cling to your estimates in hope.

BTW keep em coming..

we landed on the 6th of August at around the same time 3 other planes landed and we were held on board the flight for at least 10 mins. We were PE, so one of the first off although the Virgin staff did not do a good job of getting the economy passengers to wait for us to come down the stairs it was a bit of a free for all. When we arrived at immigration the queues were the worst that we have ever seen and we stood and watched our luggage go around on the carousel for at least 30 - 40 mins. so it wasn't that quick hoping for better next August.
