How long does it take for the DVC to go through if you buy direct from Disney?

Also when do they want the money ( full amount) I am very conscious of the brilliant pound rate at the moment and would be keen to take advantage of the rate sooner rather than later.

Same day if you are a current member and adding on

You can pay for it all in one shot as well if you wish on a credit card on the phone if that works for you

We recently added on as the CAD dollar has been decent against USD and were able to make reservations within 3-4 hours after adding on

No I am a new DVC...but I would be able to put it all on a credit card...as I understand that Disney ( not resale) take cards.

I just wondered how long as its real estate ( I'm from the UK)

How long for what?
As jaysue says, if you give them a credit card, they'll give you a member number, and you can make reservations the same day.

How long to closing (legal completion of transaction)? I'd say 4-6 weeks. But as you can make reservations before closing (unlike resales), it's not that big of an issue. You may not even find out it happened until a couple weeks later.

[Are you free, DrTomorrow? (looks around) Yes, I'm free]

Well, we bought into SSR last October. We financed through Disney, and the whole thing took about a month, but the non-finance part only took a week and a half from the phone call where we placed the order to the letter from DVC that they'd received all of our paperwork.

One warning, though - the only thing you can currently buy new through Disney is SSR, and that doesn't "close" - and we don't start payments - until April of 2004. I don't know if they'll take your money earlier. (And as I typed that, I realized how foolish it sounds....)

Best of luck!

Realistically, you can call, tell DVC you want to buy, give them a deposit on your credit card, and you are a member. You could make a reservation in the same call if you wish.

They will send you a package in a couple weeks (since you are overseas) with all of the paperwork. It needs to be signed, notarized and returned for everything to really be official. If you want to finance some of the purchase, you will have to go through an approval process there. But DVC does it's own financing, so I understand they are pretty liberal with approvals. If you want to pay it all up front you'll either include a check or make other arrangements (credit card) when you return the agreements.

A few weeks later you'll get an approval letter on the financing and confirmation that everything is complete. As DrTomorrow said, if you're buying into SSR, you won't officially close until April or May, but that doesn't keep you from making reservations.

That's it. That's the list.

$89 base price for SSR less $5 credit for 100pts+ purchases - expiration 2054

$84 base price for all other WDW DVC resorts + HH + VB resorts - some have had success buying from DVC directly at some of these resorts but they typically have a wait list that varies depending on resort and use year

Cable hit 1.8100 USD per - great time to buy US assets

Good Luck!

thanks
