How long should I keep my DD home from school???

Had to make a trip to the ER yesterday. She had a positive throat culture for strep and started Zithromax. She also has a very itchy strep rash. She is feeling better (no fever), but is going crazy with the rash. I kept her home today because I know she is contagious for 24 hours after starting the antibiotic, but what about the rash??? Should I keep her home until it is cleared up?? I have a call in to the pediatrician, but of course it takes them all day to call back. I know you all are much faster!!!!

I can't remember what we did back when DS had strep. But, I sure hope she is feeling better with no rash very soon

My DD is home from school for day 6 with strep, her throat is very sore. Thankfully she didn't get the scarlette rash on top of it. I would keep her home until at the least the rash is no longer "itchy."
