How long is too long to wait?

We have been waiting for some points to open up in our use year for BCV. We gave our credit card number to our guide and have been waiting...since last July. We have called several times and are told "be patient'. Has anyone ever had to wait this long? What if your guide is not full time? Will someone contact us if our guide is not working? We don't want to miss the available points if they "pop". Thanks.

Have you looked at resale? If you've been waiting since July, you could've had your points by now.:confused3

Remember that BCV is a relatively small resort.
2nd smallest of the WDW "homes"....less than 1/4 the size of SSR

Thanks everyone. I have been checking the resale market (TSS) several times a day...and nothing for our use year. I have been tempted to go to another use year but will try to be patient as I know it is a much smaller DVC resort than others and we just have to WAIT. I just hope that if it does show up someone is covering for our guide if she's away...I don't want to lose the "golden egg"!

I'm not sure how many points the OP is looking for but small BCV contracts are very hard to come by in the resale market so that may not be the best option either (although it doesn't hurt to look!).

disneygal55, we must have posted at the same time!! I've been looking at the resale market as well but it seems to be almost impossible to find a BCV contract with the right number of points and matching use year.

If you don't mind me asking, what UY are you looking for and how many points? Maybe we can keep an eye for you!:thumbsup2

We have been on the waitlist for a small BCV add-on (Feb UY) since March 8, 2007! I probably should get off of the list, come to think of it, since we really want CA DVC points when and if those ever go on sale to current members.

Keep in mind if purchasing resale, you can purchase a different UY if BCV is what you really want. We have actually 3 different UY's and have no problems at all with it.

I am not sure how many people know this but not all units are registered for sale in every single state.

This past fall I spoke to my guide and found out that there were BCV points available in my UY for sale but the unit they were tied to was not registered for sale in California. Luckily I was in Florida when I found this out so I could make the purchase right then and there.

Call your guide and ask him/her if there are points available in your UY that are not available to be sold in your state. If so then next time you are at WDW make arrangements to buy when you are in town.

Please see my previous post.

You need to talk to your guide and see if there are points available in your UY that are not available for sale in California. I have the same UY as you and was able to purchase 250 points on the spot in October when I was in Florida.

Thanks "Disneymotherof3". We're looking for 150 points (September UY).

There are some resales out there. I just found one on **********.com, but unfortunately, it's already sold. Here's the info on it though:

Beach Club Villas 150 Sept. 105 pts. for 2008 and 150 for 2009. $89 a point.

Good luck!

I haven't checked anywhere else other than TSS for resales. Have you ever used **********.com? Are they pretty decent? Thanks for your help.

Well we have been waiting over a YEAR now. Since March 1st 2007. We also have a September UY also. It seems to be one of the harder ones of BCV to get. I don't really ever see many on TSS and when I do they are stripped to nothing. With a shorter contract I am not going to wait until 2010 to get my first points. Good Luck though I know how you feel but I have other resorts to keep us happy. And it looks like you have AKV to tide you over for now atleast :thumbsup2

Just curious but have a question - I have xxx points at Beach Club and purchased them to have additional points. My primary home resort is OKW and now somewhat AKV. If another party were looking to add on Beach Club pts. and say had OKW or AKV points, could the two parties make a private deal to sell or swap points? Obviously to increase the home resort point total and enable to utilize the 11 month window more to their advantage? I would think a few hundred dollars in transfer fees might be worth it to better utilize the window.

Are you on TSS's email list? If you get on it, you'll get new listings before they're posted to the web site. That's how I found my 100 pt BCV contract recently (complete with 2007 points :woohoo: )

********** has a really good reputation on this board.

I would sign up for their resale email. There are a couple of great companies (from reading this board) that if you ask.com for dvc resale will come up. Sign up for their emails. A friend of mine found a great small contract at BCV's this way and jumped on it. It also doesn't hurt to call daily or as often as you can to all of them. There is (from what I am told) an MLS of timeshares so some of the listings will be the same no matter where you look.

That long of a wait is crazy. Time to get proactive, IMHO.

I think you could arrange a private sale. Just not sure what all would be involved. You might ask that over at the www.tug2.net website. They have some timeshare experts that buy and sell often that could answer that. They have a buying and selling forum. Good luck!

Members are allowed one transfer of points per year. They will retain their original resort and Use Year, too. I think this might be what you are thinking of, instead of "selling" them.
