My wife is my oldest and dearest friend (although I doubt that I should use oldest and wife in the same sentence). We met on Christmas Eve in 1984 and have been inseperable ever since.

I am 54 years old and my best friend is 53 - we have been best friends for 51 years. :goodvibes

OK - antmaril, you have me beat!

Excluding my sister who is only 18 months older than me....we grew up with 2 girls in the neighborhood. We all met when I was 6 - so we've all known each other for almost 46 years!! The four of us would have Christmas parties when we were little - and now try to get together over the holidays. Three of us live near-by and get together several times a year for lunch. The 4th lives in Portland, but comes to California to see her Mom and brother, so we try to see her when she 's here to see them. We went to different Church schools, and kind of went our seperate ways during the high school years, but we've always been there for one another. I feel so fortunate to have them all in my life - especially my sister - we can talk about anything!

I've known my dearest friend for 36 years! She's the Godmother for my first DD and was her sponser at her confirmation last year.

My best freind I have had since we were in 7th grade. We don't see each other much anymore because she lives in a different town and has little ones but I know if I need her or she needed me there would be no hesitation. Another friend I have known forever-- we went to daycare as infants. We are now both 37.

Met my oldest and dearest friend 27 years ago this past September in the 5th grade when I moved to town.

See picture below....that's us!

My mother is my oldest and dearest friend.... and considering I am over 40, I voted in the 36+ years category. I turn to her for everything! And we are (usually) able to be brutally honest with each other. My kids adore her (and my Dad) and we are fortunate to be able to spend time together every month (they live 2 hrs away). I'm sure I didn't consider her my best friend when I was between the ages of 12 and 18, but I definitely do now!...............P

My oldest friend and I met in 2nd grade, 43 years ago. We live about 400 miles apart but keep in touch by e-mail. We also met once at WDW as our vacations coincided. She was my matron of honor and I was her maid of honor. My second oldest friend and I met in hgih school about 35 years ago but sadly she passed away almost 7 years ago. She was godmother to my boys.

My oldest friend was my best friend in high school, we are still very close but I have been friends with my best friends for about 3.5 - 4 years. We have more in common and the first person I think to call when I want to share something big or little, something good or bad!!!

I've known my best friend my whole life ~ Literally!
Her mother & my mother were best friends...they came to the hospital they day I was born. :flower:

I've known my best friend ever since we were 18 months old, that's 30 years!!! Even though we are COMPLETE opposite of each other - we still remained friends through high school, college, her many moves, now she lives around the corner from me and our dd's are friends. It's so funny to see how we grew up together, now our dd's are only 9 months apart and are growing up together also!

I have two one from growing up who's 3 years older, and one who's a year or so younger (well, 7 months, but a grade in school younger) frm high school.

The first one I met when I was about 9 or so. We hated each other at first, but by the time I was 10 we were really close and terrorized the neighborhood together. So, that woudl be 20 years.

The younger one I met when I was 16, so that's been 14 years ago.

They're very different, but they're each so special to me in their own way.

It is so great to see that over 85% of us have had a really good friend (or two) over 10 years. And 20% of us fall into the category that I am in with my best friends. That is fabulous!!

I met my best friend when we were 7 years old - 36 years ago! :goodvibes

I met my best friend when I was 6 in 1st grade so, 37 yrs ago. We just went to our 25th class reunion and had so much fun! :sunny:

17! Shes my cousin and we've been best friends since we were born, I honestly have no idea what i'd do without her :)

My best friend and I have been friends since we were 4 years old. I have other friends that are from grade school but this is my oldest and dearest friend who I would do anything for.

My best friend and I met in kindergarten in 1966. We have been best friends ever since and still only live a few miles apart.

I was 11 when we became friends. She was 16 and did not want to go to her parents' cabin with them in the summer so she would stay with us. We didn't become "close" until after I graduated high school. I was pregnant with DD and she was pregnant with her DS at the same time, they were born a month apart so we REALLY became close then. I am now 48 so it's been 37 years that we have been friends. She is my only "REAL" friend. I have "friends" at work, but don't consider myself close to any of them.
