How long have Virgin reps in Orlando been ringing UK customers?

I can't believe that a rep in Orlando rang us a couple of nights ago to see if they could do anything for us once we got to resort. This is our 7th time, but only our 4th time as a package with Virgin (the other 3 times we did everything ourselves). My DH told them this and that we already had great knowledge of the area and we had already bought all our tickets etc. We've never had them ring us the other times we've been with them!!
Anyone else been contacted like this?

We had someone call us in 2008 from Virgin (We had a package holiday staying at the Dolphin), although not sure if it was from Orlando.

Yes, we have had them call for a few years now but none this year and we leave on Thursday, maybe they have taken note that we have been numerous times and there is nothing extra they can sell us.:cool1

We had a call from the reps in Orlando about 4 years ago when we'd booked a package with VH. Same as you asking could they do anything to help? Did we need tickets or excursions booking ? I politely declined, explaining we'd been before but at the back of my mind I thought ' she must be low on commission this month'.

They have been doing it a few years now. I never give my home phone number to anyone so they tried ringing my business number, as it was evening I was closed, she left a long message giving me advise, contact number if I needed help with anything, tix, transport etc. I never replied to her. This was Xmas 2008, last time we used VH.

I just found it really funny as they got nowhere with hubby as they were asking about what we would be doing out there, so hubby went through the theme parks and they kept asking if we needed tickets and every answer was that we'd already purchased them - apart from the daytona experience that hubby, brother in law and daughter are doing. They told him they sold those tickets with transport - hubby replied sorry but rest of the clan going to the beach for the day and we're driving - so they were stuffed! LOL!!
We last went in 2005 - no phone calls that year or any of the previous trips.

I am sure it is more a case of them trying to market their business and make an extra sale or two than anything else, but I have to say I am always impressed by the presence of the VH reps once you clear security. Not quite the same as having to hunt around for Thomas Cook

I think it's a nice touch though. Some folk really do want some help/advice or some extra tickets.

I agree. I am not naive enough to think they are only doing it for the good of the customer, but it is a sign of good customer service that they are even bothering to check.

So how far before your holiday do they call? I had a rep call us in 2007 but can't remember how far it was before our holiday. She was very helpful.

We got the phone call from Orlando reps too about a week from departure and of course I had everything covered.

Then on the day of arrival we got a call at the hotel "sorry we missed you at MCO". That would be because we had organised our own car hire
