How long for Epcot

I have been to Mk, but never to Epcot. I really want to take my time to explore as much as I can and not rush. However, we have a dd(5) and dd(2) and my mother-in-law so we really have to schedule breaks and naps. Is it doable in one day? Or should I schedule two? I planned on two days at Mk, and one for AK and HS.

If you really want time to explore, I would schedule at least 2 days. Normally I plan 1 day each in FW & WS. That should give you enough time to see everything at pretty leisurely pace, without having to backtrack too much.

Definitely 2 day especially if you have to take breaks. I have an 8 yr old and a 5yr old and in the past it has taken us about a day and a half and we do not stop for breaks. Have a great trip!

I would agree with the 2 days and exactly what wench stated, one day for Future World and one day for World Showcase. That way you have a "goal" on what to complete each day. You kids won't get overwhelmed by a long day either. Make sure to stop at the KIDCOT fun stops and let them participate! They are available in each country in the WS.

This is my plan also, 1 day at AK + HS 1 day at future world 1 day at showcase and 3 days at MK... Showcase can be fun for the kids if you do the passport and bear thing, we did 3 countries and ran out of time but DD had a lot of fun with it! I'd love for her to be able to finish it!

I'd like to offer a different approach on the 2 days - do 1/2 of FW and 1/2 of WS on each day. The kids *could* get restless if you try to do all of WS in one day.

I struggled with this for our upcoming August trip and I settled on two days. Our approach for day 1 will be rope drop on west side of FW through Germany WS (we have a late lunch reservation there), then leave after lunch; day 2: east side of FW through the rest of WS on a late start day and stay for the fireworks. I think this will work well for our family and I'm pleased we get 2 days of meals out of Epcot because the restaurants seem great. I also like that we'll be able to FP Soarin' and Test Track. Have fun with the planning!

Thanks everyone, I had heard varying accounts of being able to do all in one day, but they did not have little ones so it was easier. Two days it will be!

You can also ROPE DROP MK three times and on one of the days head over to Epcot at 11AM or NOON with a FP+ for Test Track or SOARIN. And then also go one entire day to epcot. This is 1.5 epcot days or more likely 1.75 days....

Of course only worth it if you have decided on Park hoppers...

I really like to spend one full day in Epcot followed up with several visits in the evenings. We could likely do everything we wanted to do in Epcot in a day and a half, but like to leave time to wander in the Wold Showcase a bit.

I like the above 2 ideas. That's how we roll too. A full day at World showcase may get boring for very young kids. There are only a couple rides and a couple movies. They may like the meet n greet characters there (Snow white, Mary Poppins- not sure who else)

In the past, we have gone to Epcot at rope drop, ride a couple rides, head into WS at 11am. Then return to FW later in the day for our FP+ for Soarin or Test track.

My kids are older. The first time we took them they were pre-teens, the second time they were teens. We've always managed to do Epcot on one day. We are mid day break people, but we don't take a mid day break on our Epcot day. We rope drop FW, ride everything, have lunch at Sunshine Seasons then head to WS for the afternoon and evening. If I had little ones or wanted a mid day break, I'd probably spend 1.5 days in Epcot. I also really like the idea of rope dropping a different park each morning, taking a break and hopping to Epcot for dinner a few evenings.

WS can take you a long time to tour or a very short time, depending on what you enjoy doing. When my kids were pre-teens they enjoyed the Kidcot stops. As teens they enjoyed the demonstrations, street shows, snacking and having dinner at a nice TS restaurant. We are not big shoppers so the stores really didn't wow us. The last hour we end up find spot on the grass to rest and wait for Illuminations.

My SIL took her younger kids (3, 7, 8). They did not enjoy Epcot at all and plan to skip it next time. One day was more than enough for them. To each his own.
