can someone tell me about how long it takes to eat dinner at 'Ohanas? we have an 8 pm ADR on a Thurs night? wondering if we will have time to eat and be on the beach for the fireworks from MVMCP?:santa:

It is family style..so all the food comes out at once..there is a cm who sings and gets the kids involved in a conga line. It is cute..my answer would be an hour from start to finish. It is not in their best interest to keep you there any longer..it is a very popular restaurant. ;)

I would say a good 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours depending on how quickly you get seated and how big your party size is. We were lucky enough to get seated at the big round table in the corner at the window so we could watch the fireworks from our table.

We ate dinner there last Tuesday, 5 of us, and it was about 1-1/2 hours total.

It is family style but the food is brought out in stages (at least when we have eaten there). First the salad...then the appetizers...then the meats and main course offerings...and lastly the dessert.

Arrive about 20 minutes before your ADR time. This may help you get seated on time. After that it is up to you and how much you eat. It usually takes us about 1 1/2 hours before we are ready to explode.:rotfl2:

We were there for about an hour and a half and it was totally worth it

We ate there last night. Our ADR was for 6:55 p.m. We arrived about 15 minutes early and got seated at about 7:10 (just 15 minutes after our adr time). We left about 9:00 p.m. So I would say everyone saying 1 1/2 - 2 hours is about right. Our server was a little slow at first, but once the food started coming out the service picked up. We had a wonderful time and the food was excellent. We had a wonderful view of the castle.:)

We ate there last Monday (It was great btw). Once we were seated it only took an hour for us to eat. Enjoy!

Once your seated I'd say about an hour-that's what it winds up being for us whenever we are there.

That is too funny!! We are also planning on doing the same!:cool1:
We are going on the 18th of Dec. and we also want to see the water parade that they have in that are. I believe it starts at 9pm.

Good luck and have a fun trip!

The key issue is how long it takes to get seated. Most times our family of four only waited a few minutes, in June we waited about 40 minutes (arrived about 10 minutes early so I guess it was technically a 30 minute wait). Then we had for the very first time at this place, very slow service. It took forever for our server to show up, take drink orders and get the ball rolling. Once the food started arriving, it went along nicely. But for that meal, it took over two hours from the time I walked up to the podium to tell them we had arrived to when we were done. Luckily, we had a table near a window so we saw the fireworks from there. If we had been trying to get to the beach (our original plan) we would have been out of luck.
