How long does it take to fill out the ESTA and any tips or advice please?

Hi

I am waiting for DH to get home from work and if its not going to take too long I want to get the Esta's out of the way tonight.

I am a worrier and have been putting this off I have read through the advice they give you and have both our passports at hand and the address of where we are staying first. Is there anything else I need?

I take it I print something off when done.

You know I even had a nightmare last night that we wern't allowed entry

I had never done anything like this before. Think it only took 20 minutes to complete all 5 of us

You can easily get it out of the way tonight Helen. You can print out the confirmations when you have finished but you shouldn't actually need them.

It took me about 15 mins - its not a big deal, very easy to understand and much easier than those freen wavier forms!

Phew ....

Now what do I need with the 100 or so copies I printed

Do you need to tell Virgin - we have booked flights only so no rep involved.

In July will I need to do the green form or will it be just ESTA by then?

No need to tell Virgin and by July you shouldn't need to worry about the green forms either (although you never know).

You don't need to tell Virgin that you've applied for ESTA, but you will need to provide them with the Advanced Passenger Information that they have to collect before you fly. This includes the full postal address of where you're staying for your first night in the US.

You can do this beforehand online, or at online check-in, or at check-in at the airport.
