How long does it take an iPod to charge?

DH got me an iPod Nano for Valentine's Day and the battery ran low today. I've had it plugged in since about 7:30 and it's still got the little DO NOT sign flashing telling me "do not disconnect."

Anybody know how much longer I need to stay up? If I shut my laptop, will it still charge? I'm clueless about this kind of stuff...

it's charging while you're getting the 'do not disconnect' circle with the slash through it. it wants you to synch it up with iTunes.

OK, so it says "iPod is up to date". Does that mean it's done? It's still charging...

The ""do not disconnect" has nothing to do with the battery!!! That is syncing with Itunes! In Itunes...disconnect the IPOD, then Physically disconnect the IPOD!!!!

I am sure the Battery is charged...normally 2 hours tops!

And while I'm on the subject, if any of y'all have Nanos, what case do you have? I'm going to scratch this soon if I don't get a cover for it.

my daughter has an iSkinz for her nano. I just put a little invisible shield on my nano's screen. it's the 8 gig black one and my fourth iPod. I don't care if it gets scratched up as long as the screen doesn't get messed up.
