How long does bingo sessions last?

Who has personally won at bingo? Has anyone here ever won the jackpot, or personally known someone who has?

We have multiple times over our 7 cruises. Sometimes we had to split the pot with others and other times it was all ours, but amounts have ranged from $30 to $300.

My take: Do bingo once and skip it forever. The sessions were really quick and at $40 per entry, the ship was making a ton of money off of this. The total prizes for one of our sessions was $460 ($100, $110, $120, $130). There was a least 30 people playing. For the large jackpots, I heard there was more. For $40, there are better ways to spend half an hour of your time. I felt like my time would probably be better spent going to a DVC presentation and NOT buying the DVC. I would've gotten a chance to win $200 on board credit. However, take my opinion with a grain of salt as it is from a non-bingo player. Also, I found the "shake it up betty" chants and the B11 dance pretty annoying. So if you love those things, maybe its worth your time.

Sessions last an hour, with 4 games per session. There is a 15 or 30 minute pre-sale period before the bingo hour begins.

Love BINGO on the ships. We have won a few times. Nothing too much but it is still fun. On our New Years Eve cruise a couple years ago a family from our cruise group won the final jackpot. It was over $10,000.

This is just my personal opinion and everyone's different but I've been disappointed with BINGO on the ships with the exception of the jackpot bingo on longer cruises. I grew up used to the session at the VFW and American Legion that lasted 2 hours. We were done in under 30 minutes the first time I played. There were 4 games, each lasted less than 5 minutes plus a little time to transition. Some sessions have been longer but my expectations were too high based on my experience at other venues.

On the longer cruises jackpot bingo we've had to wait at least 30 minutes after scheduled start time for everyone to buy their cards and get ready. While I like those sessions the wait time is way too long.

Agree--the wait time just to get started can be almost as long as the session! OR it seems that way----

I walked away with $60 and a bonus spa prize last year and $171 this year. I saw someone win over $8,000 a few days ago.

This last cruise I won twice, but both times there were multiple bingos so the cash was split. The first one I ended up with $41, and the second bingo got me $9 (that one had 30 people claim bingo). Drew said that was not the record. On one cruise he had 54 people claim bingo.

Wow. I've never seen anything like that happen, and we play DCL bingo a lot. The most people I've seen have to split a prize before is 6.
