How long do you think the current incentives will last?

DVC is offering incentives on Aulani and AKV. How long do these usually last?

I watched the Direct Disney incentives for a number of months before buying a resale and have had a passing interest ever since. I have also read a number of posts here on the disboards and have formed the opinion that incentives for purchases direct from Disney are the rule not the exception. Even the Grand Floridian that doesn't have a formal incentive at the moment is still priced lower then BLT. Basically, incentives are Disney’s way to put some urgency in the purchaser’s decision making process. Don’t rush into buying direct from Disney without taking the time to consider the purchase carefully. Also, you may want to look into the resales, as you will save a lot more money going that path. If you miss an incentive there is probably another one around the corner.

Are you looking to buy soon? Have you looked into resale? If you are considering AKV you can buy resale for half of what Disney is charging.

As to the original question, DVD usually has some incentives going. The real question you are asking is when per point prices will change because it is usually then that incentives also change a little. Prices could change at any time but they usually give fair warning, more than a month, before price changes go into effect (that is also a sales tool to get people to buy before prices are raised). Prices have been raised frequently in the last two years and there is no set pattern as to how long the time is between changes. I would suspect we might see another price change before the end of the year or early next year at the latest.

Who is Samantha Brown?

Samantha Brown has done some great Travel Channel shows on Disney. She's well informed and is a great host.

She did a DVC exclusive introducing VGF (Behind the Grand Design) that is going to premiere early Aug. You have to sign up to watch it for the first few days.

Thank you. That's exactly what I was looking for. I do remember getting emails warning that the I incentives would end. I will watch for those.

I'm looking to add on to my Aulani contract with more Aulani points.
