How long do you think it would take you to plan a Disney World vacation?

Ok now I want to introduce the kids. I will start with Courtney. She is 16. She is a good big sister to Grace and Brennan. She is a good student. She is quite sassy sometimes. Her room is a disaster area. But she is responsible too. I guess it balences out. She has a job and saves her money. She just bought her first car this Saturday. With her own money. She is going to pay the notes herself. She has a boyfriend named Lance. We really like him. She is mad because we can't take him with us to Disney World so she hasn't decided yet if she is coming with us or not. She is going to give me an answer by Jan. 1. I know she is going to come with us but she just wants me to think she might stay home.

Next is Brennan he is eleven. He is a good baseball player. He playes on a select USSSA team. He is very smart. He can talk your head off about useless facts he learn watching animal planet. He makes me dizzy sometimes. He is very loving and affectionate. He doesn't know we are going to Disney World for Mardi Gras. We are planning on surprising him. I just hope Courtney keeps her mouth shut. I am more worried about the grandparents spilling the beans. I might not tell my MIL for a while. I wish I wouldn't have told my mom yet. She has a big mouth.

Last but not least Ora Grace. We call her Grace or Gracie Lou sometimes. She is our little surprise from heaven. I can't even imagine our lives without her. She loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She calls them ma mous. She also loves Nemo. She calls him mo mo. She was seven months old on our last trip to disney. I can't wait to see how she reacts. She deserves to go to Disney World. She was so sick last week she was in the hospital with pneumonia. She is better now. She just got her appetite back. She is eating like a little cow for the last three days. She is making up for not eating for about two weeks.

Coming up next our plans.................

I have come to that conclusion! :rotfl2:
Shhh....don't tell her I do not own a SINGLE LSU item. :upsidedow
Of course, I don't live anywhere NEAR Louisiana but I don't think that excuse will fly with her!
We will have to fix you up with something when you come down here. ;)
That's RITE! ::yes::
This man knows what he is talking about.:thumbsup2
Hi! :wave2: I'm in! :thumbsup2

Hi I am glad you found me. I haven't talked to you in a while. I hope you have been doing fine.

Those pictures are so cute! You have a nice family. :goodvibes

I forgot about your snow! One of my friends down there calls it sneaux. She was mad because she missed it when she was out of town!

You have a beautiful family there. :thumbsup2

Those of us down here are VERY proud of the sneaux we had. I have pics on my TR too. :rotfl2:

I'm going to investigate! :thumbsup2 Ok...is it a trip report or Louisiana Food 101?

I have pictures of snow too, but not on my trip report because, oh yeah, I didn't write one. :headache: Maybe I'll stick one in here just for you.

Snow on my fire escape. (Pay no mind to the water in between the window panes :headache:)

Coteau_chick...your snow looks whiter than ours.

Came over from Winkers TR. I read your last Trip report and loved it. Your kids are so funny. We were at Disney last week and I thought of you several times. Especially at POTC, only I didn't have the nerve to tell George that I didn't believe in him. I will be back in a few minutes to read up on your pre-trip report.

Count me in too. We are also going in Feb.:cool1: Can't wait. Nice surprise for hubby to have you plan in short notice! I also have a fantastic husband that I met at 17/he was 18. Only I told everyone he was the perfect person to marry, but I wasn't sure I wanted to meet him at 17. Boy am I glad I stuck with him. He's the best!! I guess we are just lucky!:thumbsup2 Can't wait for more.

Laura, I'm so excited for you! I just wish it was a few weeks earlier!
The picture of courtney and Grace in the crib is so cute!

I'm back. Wow! Courtney is really growing up. I am glad that Grace is feeling better. It must have been scary. Can't wait to see how you tell Brennan about the trip.

I just love snow so any snow picture is good to me. Your life is so different than mine. You live in a big city and I live in the country. It's not that bad I have neighbors but I don't live in a subdivision. I hope we can try to meet when you come to Louisiana. Maybe you can come visit me when you come to Lafayette or I can go to Baton Rouge and meet you and disneytiger. I would love to go to the disney store there. We don't have a disney store.

Thats too funny. I thought about people from disboards on my trip too. Utah Mama talked about George pirate: In her trip report. Thats when I told the kids about him. They couldn't wait to try it out. I guess you didn't want to risk George pirate: following you.

Thats neat. When are you going??? Maybe it will be the same time as us. Welcome aboard.

Courtney is something else. I am sure I probbaly showed you that picture before but I freaked out when I walked in that room and she was in the baby bed. She lives to get a reaction out of me.

Courtney will be a senior next year. She is only going to be seventeen when she graduates. I am not in a rush for Grace to grow out of any stage she is in. I can wait. I now know just how fast it goes. I stare at her so much because I know she will only be little like this for a short time.

I need to tell you about our plans now

First off I want to keep this trip a secret from Brennan until we check him out of school on Friday Feb. 20. I want the secretary to call him on the intercom and say, "Can you please send Brennan to the office to check out. He is going to Disney World." He thinks we aren't going until May of 2010. I hope this works out. I am going to have to guard the mail box with my life if I am going to pull this off. I will also have to super glue my mouth.

We are going to leave from his school and drive to Talahasse (SP?). We are going to get up Saturday morning and drive the rest of the way to Port Orleans Riverside. That is where we are staying for seven nights.

Here is the day by day plan so far.

Friday - Drive to Talahasse (SP?) Feb. 20

Saturday - Drive to POR check in and head to Epcot. Feb. 21

Sunday - AK Feb. 22

Monday - Epcot Feb. 23

Tuesday - HS Feb. 24

Wed - MK Feb. 25

Thurs. - HS Feb. 26

Fri. - Mk Feb. 27

Sat. - :sad1: Drive home Feb. 28

Glad you like the snow. We got about 8 inches from the storm those pictures came from; that was a couple of weeks ago. It's snowing again now, but we are only supposed to get about an inch. It's going to be cold though tonight...down to about 17 with wind. You can watch the crazy people outside in this weather tonight on tv! Don't look for me I won't be in Times Square!

I definitely want to meet up with you and DisneyTiger when I'm down there. My friend wants me to spend a night at her house in Lafayette; I just don't know WHAT night yet...and I'm not sure when I'll know either. I think she lives on the west side of Lafayette.

Your house is so cute. I have a TON of neighbors but I don't know any of them. My building is only 6 floors but a lot of the ones around me are 20.

So you are staying at Riverside...should remind you a bit of home. :rotfl:

That'd be awesome if you could get the school to page him like that! My school would absolutely not do anything like that. One time I was in the office and this lady was like "I need to take my kid out, my other child is in the Emergency Room. I have to go there." The principal was reaming this parent out for pulling her child out before the end of the day. I can only imagine what she'd do if someone said they were going to WDW! :scared1:

I love your plan to suprise Brennen! It sounds like alot of fun!

Brennan's school is full of wonderful teachers and staff. My MIL taught title one there for thirty years. They know us and love us. It is an awesome school with a strong sense of community. I think they will be excited for Brennan to get to go back to Disney World. We are only going to check him out about an hour early. It is the last day of school before a break so they probbaly won't be doing too much at that time. He will most likely be in band. The kids usually get three days off for Mardi Gras and we let them miss two. This year they are only getting two days off so Brennan and Courtney are going to miss three days of school.

Finding a school like that to work at would be ideal for me. "Sense of community" is not something that I would use to describe the school I'm working at now. If someone is friendly to you, it's only because they want something or because they want to get information to go report back to somebody else on. I'd describe the environment more as "toxic" than "community".

Wait...what grade is he in that he has band? Our school does not have music but it's an elementary.

In the past band wasn't until sixth grade. This year the allowed fifth graders to join. He goes during PE time. He loves it. Brennan's teachers this year have actually taught dh when he was there. Most of his cousins too. It is just so neat. It is a small school but it is awesome.

Hi!!! I'm Alisa and I'm usually more of a lurker than poster. I enjoyed reading your report last Feb. We too are going for Mardi Gras. We live in Houma which is about 1hr south of New Orleans. We've gone to WDW at Mardi Gras for the last three years. We bought DVC last year so we have many trips in our future----at least for the next 50 years. We went twice this year and hope to go three times in '09. With our first Christmas visit in the early talking stages for now. I've subscribed, so I'm in!!! Oh we're going Feb 21-28th and staying at Saratoga Springs. My schedule looks all most exactly like yours------do you get Tour Guide Mike too?

You guessed it. I subscribe to him too. This year for Mardi Gras it was way more crowded than in 2006. I seemed like all of Louisiana was there. My SIL has alot of family in Houma. I know where it is. I went there on a field trip in sixth grade to a swamp tour. We are going to plan our trip after this to Fort Wilderness with our camper. We camp alot and would love to camp there. That trip will most likely be in may of 2010 for about two weeks. I hope anyway. Do you have a pre trip report? I am glad you joined us and will be reading along.

I'm here!! Sorry I didn't see your post until today and you are already on page 3! Again, I'm so glad you and your family get to go back. I wish it was a couple of weeks earlier so you could be there the same time we are. There are a LOT of Diser's going that week. Have you stayed at POR before? We did in May and it was nice. We had a good time there.

I see ya'll are driving the same pattern we are. It really works well. If we leave Tallahassee at 5am we are usually walking into a park by 10am.
