How long do you have to transfer a booking to a TA?

Does anybody know how long I have to transfer a booking from me to my TA? I'd like to book a 2021 summer cruise and I know that she's swamped today and doesn't work Fridays. So I was thinking about booking online today and then just transferring it to her to complete everything else over the next few months. I know what room I'd like (or at least a selection of rooms I'd like) and I know that they're available so I don't really want to wait too much. Are there any disadvantages to booking myself and transferring?

It is 30 days, but not all TAs handle transfers the same way. Some might offer OBC if you book with them, but less if you transfer a booking. But if that's not important then the transfer is pretty easy to do.

Thanks. I've transferred a WDW room booking to her before so I assume it's the same or similar process. OBC isn't that important to us especially given the cost - it's pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I use a TA for the knowledge, workload, and one phone call to sort out any issues (or not have any issues because of the knowledge) I presume she gets the same commission? I'd hate for her to lose because I was overly concerned about a delay of a day or so. That's more important to me - we do a fair bit of business with her and she often goes the extra mile for me.

I'm guessing they get less commission if it's transferred and that's why the OBC is lower. I don't know for sure though!

TA's get less commission for transfers/OBB, which is why Dreams Unlimited has the 2 tiers of OBC--one for booking straight through them and one for transfers (half the OBC).

Edited to add...I can't remember how long ago it was, but I remember reading all the stuff when Disney started giving them less commission.

I don't know if the lower commission on transfer is the same for each TA, it wouldn't surprise me if DCL didn't have exactly the same policy for each agency. I suppose at worst you could cancel the self-booking and re-book through her if commission was an issue. I don't use a TA except Costco but could see how some would prefer the individual touch!
