How long do the Christmas decorations stay up?

I want to take my g'kids to WDW when the parks and resorts are decked out for the holidays. Originally I was thinking about taking the kids out of school the first week of December, but realized that they get a Monday and Tuesday off in late January for teacher workdays ... if I took them that week they'd only miss 3 days of school instead of 5.

Last year we went to WDW of the 5th of January. We arrived late at night so we didn't go to any of the parks until the 6th. The decorations were still up at Epcot, MGM Studios, and AK. I can't rember if they were up at MK. However, by Jan. 8th they were all down. I noticed that each day they became fewer and far between. However, it was fun to see what the parks would look like during the Holidays. We stayed at the Dolphin, and I don't remember seeing any decorations there.

I was afraid of that ... guess we'll have to go in December.

We were there on Jan. 2 a few years ago, and even though most of the decorations were still up, the live greens and plants were looking a little worse for the wear. Go in between T-giving and Christmas if you can, as an added bonus, it's generally very quiet in the parks.

I took the 7 hour Backstage tour last April and I saw the warehouse where Disney stores their Christmas decorations. I believe the tour guide mentioned that all the decorations stay up until New Year's. Then a team of folks travel from park to park and resort to resort each night to take down the decorations. By Jan 10th, if not sooner, all the decorations have been taken down.
