How long do I have to play VMK for..

How long do I have to play VMK for to become a community leader, like how many times to i have to sign in and how long do I have to be about on there? thanks

Please don't look at Disniplaya's guide. There is no way for us players to know
what criteria VMK is looking for.

The best advice I can give is to play. A lot. Explore all the various public
rooms, play the mini-games. Do the Hidden Mickey hunt (if you can find
them! This round of Hidden Mickeys is tough!)

And keep trying to apply via "Contact Us" on the bottom of the home page.
You'll get canned responses when they aren't accepting applications, and
they send a questionaire when they are ready to review.

I know players who have applied a year ago and still haven't become leaders.
Maybe they should re-apply. The applications could have gotten lost in
the "black hole".

We had a big discussion there about it last week and this week, I put a question/request in the questions for Yavn to see if we can get some more firm guidelines for CL posted somewhere.

A couple current CLs weighed in on that thread; however, no instance is the same and keep in mind, no one knows the exacts on how Staff picks them.

I have nothing against you, but I did find that thread you started to be
highly inappropriate. You gave the impression you KNOW how leaders are
chosen, and nobody but VMK staff know for sure.

Giving players false hope that they can be leaders if they follow your
guidelines seems a bit irresponsible to me. Sorry.

questions, posted when they applied and when they became leaders, and
other info these players provide through personal experience.

Talentless, there is no exact number of days for how long you have to play before you can becoem a community leader. It just comes at you.

Pot.Kettle.Black. I didn't think I was snippy, but I did want to address
that I was not "anti" anyone. I wanted to finally express my opinion about
the thread. There were MANY times I tried to post a response there and
canceled it because I thought I was too harsh.

I'm just a little irked in general when I see posts written as "official" without

btw talentless : if you undertand the game enough, and be kind to all the players you meet, send in an application. if they accept, they accept. no one knows exactly how they do it

I generally roll my eyes when it see the word "official" on a thread that doesn't come from one of the DIS Moderators, because no one else has the right to make an "official" thread unless your thread is talking only about you, like:

I believe I answered her question the best way I knew how. I did not
express my opinions in any way to be argumentative. I just stated that
the other thread is not a good barometer for measuring what criteria VMK
is looking for when they accept CLs. I thought there should be some
accountability. If everyone is choosing to see it as an argument, so be it.

I do not write it as such. If I wanted to start an argument, you'd know it.

I still stand by my original advice, which shockingly enough, sounds similar
to yours.

Actually it's about 4-5 months, you have to play at least 3-4 times a week for a few hours. Make sure you have not been banned, don't do the "mummy" thing or the taken thing and you follow rules.

I think that little kids' playacting with families (being someone's "mummy" in
VMK) is pretty harmless. And "taken" isn't against VMK Values. So I don't
think anyone doing that will be automatically disqualified if they apply to
be a leader later.

Really? I haven't seen Hosts or other VMK staff members tell players that
they shouldn't do those things. Didn't you see the newsletter that
addressed the "taken" question? The VMK response was that it was
ok to have a "special friend".
