stay up in the resorts and the parks??

I have gone to WDW in Dec early but I was thinking of a Jan vacation this year.

They usually stay up through the first week or so of January, but have been known to stay up later. Depends on the decorating schedule. The earlier in the month you go, the better chance you have of seeing all the finery!

I think historically, most of the decorations come down around the 3rd or 4th of Jan. That was the case when we there there during that period in 2001. The only thing that stayed through the entire first week of Jan was the Osbourne Lights.

They start to come down at the end of the "Holiday Rate" season for the hotels. Typically first week of January.

They took the Christmas decorations down at the WL during the night and morning of Jan. 11-12 this year.

This year while we were staying at the Beach Club Villas, they were digging up the poinsettias on New Year's Day. It was a little depressing.

Likewise, when do the holiday decorations go up? I've got a friend who's ITCHING for me to plan a trip for early December, and really wants to see Christmas decorations with low crowds.

The decorations seem to go up the day after Thanksgiving until Sunday morning.

We arrived at Coronado Springs on Sat (after Thanksgiving) and I was a little sad that our resort was not decorated yet.....well let me tell you by breakfast time on Sunday it was like little elves has worked all night to make it a Christmas wonderland! A fabulous time to go to the "world" Just breath-taking!
