How long can I stay parked at a resort after an ADR?

If I have an ADR at a resort at 5:35 and we opt to park at the resort, how long can we stay parked there?

We would like to go over to the Contemporary for a short bit after exploring WL and I think we should be able to get it all done in 3 hours, but I am nervous that we will go over our time and I would like to make sure we don't get towed or go over our time limit.

It's is written down as 3 Hours. Is it enforced, who knows!

You never give your plate details to anyone. So they are not linked to hotel guests or hotel diners.

There is not a time limit for valet parking.

As Alesia said, there is no time limit for valet. It's a flat rate per "calendar" day; so if you stay past midnight (or whenever their clock system rolls), you'll be charged for a second day of valet.

1) With the price increase for parking lots, they are really cracking down on the 3-hr resort/ADR time limit.
2) At some resorts, they have gone to a 2-hr limit.
3) Folks try to get a resort ADR and to avoid the new $20 parking lot fee.
4) Others go for valet parking at the resort, not realizing it comes out more expensive than the parking lot.

We ate at WCC last night. We are staying at BC, drove over at 5:15 for our 5:30 ADR. We took the boat to MK at 7:15, stayed through Wishes at 10 and a few minutes of EMH, then took the boat back. We hopped in our car at 11:15, no questions asked. It does depend on the hotel/crowd levels, etc. we've used the CR lot in this way, as well.

CR tends to be much more strict about parking than WL because of the easy walk to MK. We've stayed at CR twice, and have seen cars being towed from the self-park lot. If it were me, I wouldn't risk it at CR, or any of the monorail resorts.

I have parked twice at Polynesian for a breakfast ADR (7am) and then gone to the park and returned at 3pm with no problem. This was last year, however, so I don't know about now. They didn't check our plates. We WERE staying in another hotel on property and had our pass on the dash. May have made the difference not sure.

First, there are cameras at the entrance and they to know both your plate and the time you enter.

There was no problem for you but there may have been a problem for someone staying at the Polynesian. The lot does occasionally fill to capacity which means that a returning Poly guest may not find a spot. Been there and believe me it's horrible.

The lots are posted as not for theme park access. If you do go to a park then you are it using the lot in the manner intended. Really, it comes down to courtesy. You wouldn't want to find your resort's lot filled when you returned neither do those at the Poly. Show them the same courtesy you'd expect at your resort by not parking longer than needed for your ADR or use valet.

That's great but as they don't know what you are arriving for, it must be difficult to know who to remove? That is unless they ask you what you car details are when you arrive, which in my experience they never do.

Please.....don't recommend parking at resorts (with park access) for going to a park after an ADR! Disney doesn't want you to drive to a resort, park, have your meal then leave the car and head to a park.
Will your car be towed or such if you stay longer than 3 hrs? No idea. But, I think it's curious that no one mentions this when heading to, say, CSR or SSR for a meal. It's only those resorts that have immediate park access.


Hey Disney...if you're out there, monitoring the boards..and we know you are. How about MB accessed parking lots for resort 'residents', and a different, short stay lot, for those with ADRs? The ADR people can get a ticket, time stamped, when they enter the lot. Then, if the time stamp upon leaving is less than 3 hrs, it's free. More than 3 hrs? They pay a fee. It's a win-win. Not to mention you wouldn't need a huge lot for those with ADRs...it would be amazing to see how many people suddenly didn't need to park their cars for an ADR!

Avoiding a time consuming argument at exit possibly holding up others in line and maybe ending up with the guard "letting it go this time" and only the most aggressive guests get away with not paying.

No, most resorts don't check but, there are times when you could be prevented from parking at a resort without resort ID.
Most people aren't going to go drive to CSR, for instance, eat, and then take a bus to a park. However, many people head to monorail or Epcot resort, grab a bite to eat, and then head to a nearby park....then back to the resort and drive away. It's an issue for this who are paying high rates to stay at these resorts who are also driving a car. It can be hard to find a spot close to the main bldg when non-resort guests arrive during the day and park in those spots.

Does any one know what the cost is the how long you can park your car at the following resorts? We are staying offsite, but have ADR's at the following restaurants and resorts.
