How long are TC's good for?

I was about to photocopy something on my photocopier printer, when lo and behold, I open the top and find 2 USD's TC's from my trip this past summer under the lid. Apperently, after photocopying them (in case I lost them in Florida), I neglected to put them back in my wallet for my trip. I was wondering how I went through that much money - anyways. So, now since I have no real trips to the States planned until 2006 (only tentative for 2005 - need to see how the budget goes until then), I am worried about the TC's expiring. Do they have an expiry date, or will they still be useable in 2006?
Sorry for the long story, but I thought it was kind of funny.

If you're concerned, you could trade them in at the bank for US or Cdn cash. That way, you'd have the money if you need it for books, or whatnot.

I just finished up using my old TC on my trip last moth. The cheques were a couple of years old.

Not only do they not expire, but I remember reading (several years ago) that AMEX has millions of $$$ in their accounts...money that people have purchased TCs with, but then never used the TCs. The money sits and waits for the cheques to be cashed.
