How long after re-sale closing before you called

I know they say 10 days, but how long did you wait after your re-sale before you called member services? Waiting is killing me.....

I went back and checked on my first resale, I closed on Fri 11/7/08 and my info was in the system on Thurs 11/13/08, so it took 6 days. I think I made my first call after 5 days and I wasn't in the system yet.

So the paperwork said to wait several days or even a week. So yes, it did take several days, maybe it was a week? But the suspense was fun every time I called. One day they had our info in the system but it was two days later that our points showed up.

I'm trying to just be as patient as possible. We really want to use these points for our first stay ever in DVC in Oct or November. I already know I'm behind on this and may have to move around dates, but I just want to get it started.....so hard waiting

Many times, your account will be set up one day and the points put in the next business day. So don't be surprised if you call MS and they tell you that you're "in the system" but no points are in the account yet.

Be sure to check all the points, including their status (banked, borrowed, etc.) to be sure they are correct. Problems are rare, but it's better to get them resolved right away rather than when you are trying to make a reservation.

I have been VERY patient, but now that I know it's a done deal....it's very exciting!!!

I'm going to wait till Saturday as well, but not thinking anything till Monday, but I just need to call.

Heck, my info. was in the system and I was booking ressies within 36 hours of closing. And yes, it was resale. Doesn't hurt to call.

I called early and often! I think it was 3 business days or so after closing that our info was in the system (thanks to me bothering them every day, twice a day. They finally just said, "Your info is here in my stack, I'll just put it in right now.") That was at 3pm on a Monday and by the next day in the early afternoon the points were in too!

I am not patient, AT ALL, especially with my DVC purchase - I couldn't wait. We had been thinking about the purchase for years and were very excited when we bought. I, too,wanted a reservation for October and I knew they were goin' fast. (We closed about the 10th or so of June this year.) At this point, depending on what you want, October is likely to be tough.

We bought resale. We closed on a Tuesday and I waited 2 days and nothing there. Didn't call on Friday, called Saturday and there we were. Sat down and figured out where we wanted to stay, got everything together, called back and booked our trip.

First trip as DVC owners in 1 month, 1 week.

I called on the second day and they had us in the system. It was awfully fun to make our first reservation as we had waited so long to make the plunge and then get through the whole resale process.

I called this morning and we are in the system, but no points showing yet, just as JimMIA predicted. So, we're one step closer!!!

We just checked the MS website as we did our resale as an add on contract. It was posted to the system on day three and the points added on day four. Evidently it's a two step process, add the contract and then the points.

We are in the same boat as you..... got notification that the closing had gone through sunday. I called today and we are in the system but no points. They did let me check availability which was great because i have been stressing about that. We are planning a trip next may and they have all types still available at BCV

See, I stayed off the computer so I wouldn't see any more "Don't Wait" advice. I'm calling in the morning. I'm hoping for in the system and that maybe I can at least check availability.

My DH absolutely doesn't want to stay at SSR, I could care less, so we're hoping for something maybe even two DVC in early Nov. We'll see!!!

AFter everything was submitted to member services, I started calling 3 days later. It took 5 days before I was in the system. I called everyday, once a day.

I am a newbie so bare with me!!

We just bought resale and all my papers were signed and money was paid on July 19th. They told me my papers were sent to disney on July 20th and I have not heard anything since. Does this mean that we closed on July 19th?
I am also ready to start making reservations and the wait is killing me.
