About to book a stay for a friend who will leave in 13 days. Is it too late to expect for her receive ME tags and docs? If so, what does she need to do? I know that the information says that you have to book at least 10 days out, but have people had problems with this short period of time? Thanks in advance.

We had to make drastic changes exactly 12 days out that required totally new dates, itinerary schedule and a new resort. Like I said the new date was 12 days away and we changed everything on a Thursday for a Tuesday check in (two weekends in this time frame). By the first Saturday morning (2 days) Fed-Ex delivered all our new info, Magical Express Passes and luggage tags. Your friend should be OK.

And if the docs are not recieved it's still no problem as long as she is in their system.

Two choices with no Tags or vouchers.

1st just go and get your luggage from the pickup area and carry it to the DME counter and onto the bus. They will print you your voucher right at check-in.

2nd put a yellow ribbon or something easily to see on your luggage.Go directly to the DME counter and give them a description of all your luggage (and ribbon if put on they also have a baggage chart to help with identifying).

They will ask for and make copies of your airline tags and put you on the bus and pull your bags for you.

I booked a total whirlwind trip three weeks out and got my ME stuff. Now of course it's wrong because I changed resorts, and the person @ ME told me I could cross out the resort name and write the new one under it. I asked if I would receive new info and they said no.....so I hope this doesn't cause any troubles at the airport in Orlando.

14 days 16 hours 10 minutes!! :jumping1:

Thanks everyone! It's 12 days out now, and she still hasn't made a decision :confused3 I'm going to tell her that she must decide TODAY! :goodvibes

What would happen if you are flying standby and you are hopping to be on the first flight out but in the end are unabel to make that flight and have to take another can you still go on ME even thought they are expecting you at the earlier time. How would this work and can you do this or do you have to have an exact time?

The time is really so they can get a general idea of staff needed and buses.

But as long as you have a Ressie with ME then you are fine they know flights get canceled and moved .

Just make sure you let them know of any changes when you check-in at the ME desk.

Thanks everyone. She is all booked. Here's hoping that she gets her luggage tags on time. (She gets a little anal about that kind of stuff and would feel better if she everything was "in place" before she left).

So if I understand correctly as long as I have told them of the flight we are hoping to be on things will be ok if we don't make that flight and just go to the ME desk when we do arrive and we should be able to make a ride to our resort. What about or bags if they have arrived on the earlier flight I take it they will go to the resort otherwise just take them with ourselves on the bus should do as well. Is this correct?

Yes as long as they have you coming in on a Ressie they will get you on the next bus.

As for the bags as long as you have the Yellow ME tags they will be held in the back holding area.As soon as you get on the bus (driver scans your voucher) Your bags will be released to your resort.

If you are not using the ME tags then you can either go get your bags and take them with you to the Check-in then on the Bus.

Or give the airline tags to the ME CM they will ask a few questions and they will have someone pull your bags and truck them to the resort.

ME is very flexable as long as they have you on a RESSIE.

Oh thanks so very much for this info as this is our first trip and we will be staying at POP so we are wanting to use the ME service that we will have but with flying standby I was unsure about how things would work if we are unable to get on the 1st flight out. But I'm happy to know we will still be able to use ME even if we aren't on the first flight. You see my dh works for the airline we are going to Orlando with and this is why we are worried about our flights right now things look good but we don't leave until the first week of Dec so we have just over 6 wks before we go. I appreciate this info as now I don't have to worry so much. We will give the info about the flight we are hoping to be on and hope for the best but if not just worry about things once we get there as we will have a ressie and that is all that really counts then. I think to be sure we have our bags we will just go and get them ourselves and bring them to the bus. This way we will know we have them when we get to the resort

I booked last year 3 weeks out. The tags went to my best friend in Chicago, and there was not enough time to get them to N.Y. However, I simply checked my bag then gave the description to the Disney rep at the SW baggage check. Then when we went to the ME desk I was able to point out exactly what the duffle bag looked like, then emphasized that it had polka dot trim. (Self adhevise fabric tape--a life saver!) The bag came a few hours later (there was a bomb scare @ MCO, it was going to be close to 90 minutes before SW got out to the plane or else I would have waited) with a tag that had the resort reservation number and the descrpiton of "a black duffle bag with polka dot trim"! We joked all weekend how all of Disney was on the look out for the polka dot trim! :thumbsup2
