Redmic said:I consider her to be an important member of the family, so she has her meals with us and spends time with us. She is an honor student, outstanding musician, successful academically and socially. The kids I know who sleep until the afternoon seem to live in their own worlds and not do so well. I cannot think of any good reason for a kid to be up all hours of the night.
Your daughter sounds like my son. Except I let him sleep as late as he wants unless he has to be somewhere.
He stays up late reading, listening to music, watching TV, and yes, even surfing the internet. But he also has dinner with us each night, spends time playing with his younger brother in the afternoons, and comes along when we visit relatives... fully a participant in family stuff. I don't really see what the hours he keeps have to do with it
?If there's good reason, I get him up. Otherwise- sleeping in is one of the benefits of the age, IMO.
