Hi - headed back to the World in June with my mom and 3 kids. We were thinking of taking the boat one day from the MK to Fort Wilderness for lunch one day to escape the heat and crowds. We usually do CP but am looking for someplace new.

Has anyone been for lunch? Would it be too much hassle to leave MK and then come back. We go to Disney frequently, so I'm not too concerned about missing things.

Thanks so much!

We were very disappointed with Trail's End. It was very... Ponderosa/Bonanza... in a bad way.

I love Trails End for breakfast and lunch! A very nice respite from the parks, and the food is decent. It is not a large buffet, but I do enjoy eating there.

We had lunch there on our last trip. The lunch selections were not nearly as good as I thought they would be. My guess is that the dinner offerings are much better. It was "OK" at best, but I would not go back for lunch.

I would suggest you go over to the Poly and have a nice lunch at the Kona Cafe. Great food and great service.

I was just at WDW this past April, and had lunch at Trails End. I thought the food was great. There was a good selection, to choose from. Plus the strawberry shortcake was out of this world. It is a buffet, but you will not go away hungry. I also went to the Kona Cafe, and it was good, but not something I would do all the time. Fort Wilderness is a very relaxing place to just walk around at your leisure.
