I was at WDW last week, and occasionally we had to wait outside the first tapstiles because of inefficiencies in entering...people can't figure out how to line up the Mickey head, or their FP+ isn't valid. You would not believe how many people would try and enter the FP+ for an E-Ticket with either no FP or a FP for a different ride 3 hours later.
For 95% of the attractions we went on last week, we got on the ride within 3 cycles of the ride or less, including TSMM at 11:40am, so not much waiting once we got past tapstile 1 unless there was a stoppage/slow down to load guests (SM & Buzz).
I'm surprised nobody pointed out that there could be a tour group or 2 of 15-20 people with FP+ in that line, making it more legitimate.
(Quick everybody zoom in on the image and definitively state that there are NO large groups in there, just single people forced to wait outside by the oppressive FP+ system! It's like 1984 in 2014! Won't somebody think of the children!)
Overall we found that FP+ made scheduling days much easier since we could book them in the afternoon and sleep in if we wanted. We were able to change FP+ times the day before around dinner for E-Ticket rides at DHS & Epcot, so there was some flexibility. We even got a BOG ADR just 24hrs in advance because somebody canceled due to the deposit policy (I would imagine).
As for the kiosks, they need some work, both in responsiveness & added numbers. I sort of wish they would give back a matrix of rides and available times which would be WAY quicker versus picking a ride and finding the return time wasn't where you wanted it to be, then going back, then reducing the number of people in the group, etc etc etc etc.
