Really? Even before FP+ there have been occasions where I've had to wait in line to get onboard (yes, even outside the turnstiles on a couple of occasions, and yes we did wait). No way has it been a complete walkon every single time I've tried to ride it over 12 years. Sometimes it is, especially near closing.
We waited ONCE but it was on a trip with dd's choir and in April. Even then, you couldn't see the line outside the building, it was well inside the building. But on our family trips that we have taken all at Thanksgiving--no, not once. In fact, when we did wait on that one time, I told dh and dd "this is kind of nice because we are getting to see all the stuff in the line. Every other time there was no line, we just walked through to the place where you board the boats. There may have been a little wait there.
