We are looking to go again from 1/1 - 1/8/05 and I'm just curious how the crowds will be????

Thanks!!!

I've gone three years in a row the very first week in January (school I taught at started later after holidays). Crowds were always very low. CM told me she thinks they budget their money only til New Years, then everyone leaves right after. But all 3 years were very cold! A few "Polar Bears" in the pools, but often you could see your breath in the morning. Once, at AK, morning animal shows were cancelled because of the cold. Enite one early January was almost literally freezing, no one on Splash Mountain, very slow overall. Yes, I'd definitely go in early January again-no problem finding a spot for fireworks! Also, it IS WDW. Loved the low crowds.

I am going this January 3 through 10, and will gladly give you comments when I return! Just PM me or re post this then so I remember! I am hoping for sunny weather, and low crowds!

I went to Universal that week 2001. I remember going in the pool at the Hard Rock and it was about 42 degrees. It wasn't fun.

We are going 3rd to 10th as well we leave nye we are driving from ne.

Yeah

Beginning of January is VERY light! It's so nice to have the parks practically to yourself, no pushing or fighting for a spot to see the fireworks. But pack a heavy jacket, and good jeans!

The other side of the coin is that the parks' closing hour is at their earliest and there are rehabs done on some of the "major" attractions.
Be sure and check that out so you aren't surprised.

Swimming is usually out unless you can bear the walk/dash from your room to the pool wet and shivering.

We used to go during this time--no complaints, just thought you'd like to know.

We're going 1/6 - 1/14. This is our first January experience. We are praying for some warm, southerly winds and low crowds!!! From what I read, the crowds aren't a problem--its the warm, southerly winds that don't always make an appearance!!!!!!
