We always eat at rose and crown with a 7:45pm ADR outside and stay until illuminations. It is great with 3 kids not having to fight for a view of the show. This year (today 180+10 days out) I cuold not get a 7:45pm ADR. I was talking to the CM and she told me we could see illluminations perfect from La Hacienda because it was all glass.

Can anyone verify this?

Yes, there are large glass windows in front of the restaurant (only a limited number of tables have a good view). We had one of these window tables for Illuminations viewing. We personally didn't care for it there. We MUCH preferred our viewing experience at Rose & Crown.

The side facing the lake is all glass, but not all the tables have a good view of the lake. From where I sat last month, I could not see the lake at all. I assume they let people stand and walk to the windows during Illuminations but I'm not sure they do (there is no deck or viewing spot - you'd be standing around a table where people were trying to eat).
We finished out meals quickly and walked out of the restaurant to watch the show.
We did really enjoy our food and drinks. I'd go back again - just not b/c I was trying to watch Illuminations.

As six adults, we sat at a table at the windows and had a nice --not great--view of Illuminations. We had seen Illuminations before and it was a cold evening so it turned out beautifully for us. We LOVED our meal and the fireworks were a lovely end to a long day. I would not recommend it for children or folks who are trying to enjoy Illuminations for the first time. You certainly don't get the full effect. They darken the interior and the sound is piped in but still--you're watching fireworks through windows and don't see the full 360.

When we were there, we were not seated by the windows. In fact, we were seated in a booth against the wall - but in the same room with the windows. At first I was really disappointed but when the show started, our view was not that bad at all. I know that we missed the 'low" portion of the performance and I wouldn't want this for a first-timer. But to be able to be seated and not pushed and shoved, we were very happy. There is one room where there is no view of Illuminations at all. Most of those folks either went outside or squeezed into the window room.
